Women’s Tennis Drops Matches to Youngstown State and Bowling Green

LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis University women's tennis dropped both matches of their Saturday doubleheader to Youngstown State and Bowling Green, both hosted by Youngstown State.

Singles
Nagisa Miyake recorded the only Red Flash win of the match with her 6-1, 6-3 win in No. 6 singles. She moved to 1-1 this season with the victory. Dominique Yeo took a hard-fought 6-7 (6-8), 7-6 (7-1), 5-10 loss in No. 1 singles to Cecilia Rosas. Anoek Pruijmboom saw her six-match winning streak snapped in her first-career appearance in No. 4 singles. She fell 7-5, 1-6, 3-6 to Jessica Stanmore.
 
Doubles
Youngstown State took the doubles point with wins in all-three matches. Pruijmboom and Valeria Vinces had the closest margin of defeat with a 6-2 loss in No. 2 doubles, while No. 1 doubles was decided 6-1 and No. 3 doubles was decided 6-0.

Singles
The Red Flash took two-of-six singles matches with wins in No. 4 singles from Romina Cutipa and No. 5 singles from Pruijmboom. Cutipa defeated Hannah Neuman 7-5, 6-4 and Pruijmboom defeated Maru Poppe 6-2, 7-6 (7-2), as she earned the seventh win in her last eight matches. All-four other singles matches were decided in two-set victories for the Flacons.
 
Doubles
Bowling Green took the doubles point with wins in No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. Bente Vandeputte and Valeria Vinces had the closest margin of defeat with their 4-6 No. 3 doubles loss to Annika Vetter and Poppe. The No. 2 doubles match was marked incomplete with no result.
