GAME NOTES VS. CCSU
opening tip... The game between Saint Francis and Central Connecticut State marks the 49th meeting in the all-time series dating back to the 1994-95 season.
• The Red Flash have won eight of the last 10 meetings to grab a 25-23 edge in the all-time series.
• Central Connecticut State holds a 14-8 advantage in the series at Detrick Gymnasium, but the Loretto program has taken five of the last six games in New Britain.
• Saint Francis head coach
Rob Krimmel is 14-5 against Central Connecticut State including a 5-3 record on the road.
• Saint Francis held on for a 68-67 win against the Blue Devils at DeGol Arena on Jan. 21 on ESPN+
• The Blue Devils are currently one game ahead of the Red Flash in the standings.
a stu win... Be the second-straight win for the team on the road
• Be the squad's first two-game sweep this season
•  End a three-game losing streak
• Keep the Red Flash alive for the No. 6 seed and tie the Blue Devils for that spot.
• Be the fifth road win this season
next on tap... Saint Francis concludes the season at Sacred Heart on Saturday.
• The team will then compete in the NEC Tournament starting next week.
• The Red Flash are still fighting for playoff position, but will finish between the No. 6 and 9 seeds.
• If the squad finishes sixth or seventh, it would open the postseason on Wednesday, March 2 on the road.
• If the squad finishes eighth or ninth, it will play Feb. 28 at the higher seed.
the standings... Â With two games left, the NEC postseason picture is starting to come into focus. Wagner and Bryant are guaranteed to be the top two seeds. LIU and Mount St. Mary's and St. Francis Brooklyn all need a win to clinch the No. 3, 4 and 5 spots. Once you get to the sixth seed, it becomes more hazy. Merrimack is not eligible for the postseason, but factors into tiebreakers scenarios.
1. Wagner (15-1) - clinches No. 1 seed with a win
2. Bryant (14-2) - needs two wins to get No. 1 seed
Finishes no worse than No. 2
3. LIU (10-6) - needs one win to clinch No. 3 seed (would fall to No. 4 if ends in three-way tie with the Mount and Merrimack)
Merrimack (9-7) - not eligible for postseason
4. Mount (8-8) - can clinch No. 4 seed with a win or a SFBK loss. Could move into third place with a three-way tie with LIU and Merrimack
5. SFBK (7-9) - can clinch No. 5 seed with a win or CCSU loss. Could move into the No. 4 spot with two wins and two Mount losses.
6. CCSU (5-11)
7. Saint Francis, Sacred Heart, FDU (4-12)
• Saint Francis can finish sixth if it wins both games with an FDU loss. If both FDU and Saint Francis win both games then Merrimack would have to finish ahead of the Mount to claim the sixth spot.
• The Red Flash can also place sixth if it beats CCSU, but loses to Sacred Heart and the Mount sweeps both games.  Both Saint Francis and CCSU would finish at 5-13 and the Red Flash beat CCSU twice to earn the tiebreaker.
• If the Red Flash falls to CCSU, seventh would be the best finish possible with a win against Sacred Heart. Saint Francis would have swept the Pioneers during the regular season.
• If Saint Francis goes 0-2 in the Nutmeg state, it would finish eighth if FDU loses both of its games and Merrimack finishes ahead of the Mount in the league standings. If the Mount finishes ahead of Merrimack, FDU would finish eighth and host the Red Flash.
• If the Red Flash goes 0-2 in Connecticut and FDU wins a game, it would finish ninth and travel to FDU on Monday.
the word on the blue devils.. Central Connecticut State comes into the contest 7-21 overall and 5-11 in Northeast Conference play after falling 78-68 to Wagner on Saturday.
• Nigel Scantlebury paced the Blue Devils with 20 points against the Seahawks. Andre Snoody (13 points) and Joe Ostrowsky (11 points) each added 11 points.
• Scantlebury paces the team in scoring (12.2 ppg.) and assists (88).
• Ian Krishnan is second on the team with 10.3 points per game and has a team-best 65 baskets from behind the arc.
• Snoody leads the team in rebounding (7.1 rpg.) and blocks (16), while averaging 8.1 points per game.
• Central Connecticut State can clinch the No. 6 seed with a win and could slide up to the No. 5 spot with two wins and two St. Francis Brooklyn losses.
