GAME NOTES VS. SACRED HEART
opening tip... The game between Saint Francis and Sacred Heart marks the 44th meeting in the all-time series dating back to the 1999-00 season.
• The Red Flash have won nine of the last 11 meetings to grab a 23-16 edge in the all-time series. Both of those losses came at the Pitt Center
• The Pioneers hold a 10-9 edge at the Pitt Center, but the Red Flash have won three of the last four meetings in Fairfield.
• Head coach
Rob Krimmel improved to 9-1 at DeGol Arena with nine-straight wins in Loretto after taking the first meeting of the season 85-74 on January 23. Krimmel is 14-6 against Sacred Heart in his 10 seasons at the helm of the Red Flash.
• Last season the two teams split the season series with both games being played at the Pitt Center.
an sfu win would... Be the third-straight win for the team on the road
• Make the Red Flash either the No. 6 or 7 seed in the NEC Tournament. The team would be No. 6 with a win and an FDU loss or CCSU win. The Red Flash would be the No. 7 seed with a win and an FDU win.
next on tap... With a win, Saint Francis would move onto the NEC Quarterfinals on Wednesday as either the No. 6 or No. 7 seed.
• With a loss, the only way the Red Flash would avoid the PIG is with an FDU and CCSU loss on Saturday too.
• With a loss and either a FDU or CCSU win, the squad would play in the NEC Tournament Play-in Game on Monday.
• The tournament is a single elimination event.
the postseason... With one game left, the playoff picture is coming into focus.
• With a win against Sacred Heart, Saint Francis would avoid the PIG (Play-in Game) on Monday.
• With a win and an FDU loss or CCSU win, the Red Flash would be the No. 6 seed. In this three-way tiebreaker, Saint Francis would have the best record in the group with a 3-1 record, while FDU would be 2-2 and CCSU would be 1-3.
• With a win, an FDU win and a CCSU loss, Saint Francis would be the No. 7 seed. FDU and Saint Francis split the regular season, but FDU wins any head-to-head tiebreaker thanks to its Wagner win on Thursday.
• With a loss, the Loretto team can still be the No. 7 seed with FDU and CCSU losses. It would be the three-way tiebreaker scenario discussed above.
• With a loss, FDU win and CCSU loss, Saint Francis would host CCSU on Monday in the PIG. In this instance, CCSU and the Loretto team would be tied for last place and the Red Flash holds the tiebreaker thanks to the two-game sweep.
• With a loss, FDU win and a CCSU win, the Red Flash would be the No. 9 seed and stay at Sacred Heart and play on Monday in the PIG.
• The team would also be the No. 9 seed with a loss, FDU loss and CCSU win, but then would travel to FDU on Monday.
