Ann Arbor, Mich. – The Saint Francis Women's Water Polo team won the first two games in Ann Arbor as they defeated No. 25 Bucknell and Salem to close out Saturday's matchups.
The Red Flash scored 19 goals combined in the two victories on Saturday with freshman
Maysen Seile leading the pack with five goals scored in the two matchups. Juniors
Taylor Halbauer and
Abbie Carter both had four goals combined for the Red Flash at day one in Ann Arbor. Freshman goalie
Isabel Lumley had 24 saves in total on Saturday to help out a stout Red Flash defense in net.Â

STATS/NOTES
- Six Red Flash players found the back of the net, led by four from Taylor Halbauer. Maysen Seile and Emese Szucs chipped in with two goals for Saint Francis. Carissa Semple and Kayla Rhoads both had one goal to round out the scoring for the Red Flash.
- Rhoads was able to have a dominate performance in the assist game recording four to lead Saint Francis in that category. Abbie Carter had three assists for the Red Flash to help her fill the stat sheet.
- The Red Flash notched 10 steals as a team with Szucs leading the way with three for Saint Francis. Rhoads, Semple, and Halbauer all had two steals to help the Red Flash on the defensive side of the ball.
- Isabel Lumley had 12 saves for Saint Francis while also recording two steals in net to help guide the Red Flash to victory.
- This was the first victory for Saint Francis against Bucknell in team history since their first matchup in 2017.Â

- Abbie Carter and Maysen Seile led the Red Flash offense with three goals apiece to pace Saint Francis. Emese Szucs and Carissa Semple chipped in one goal each for Saint Francis to complete the scoring.
- The Red Flash collected six blocks total with Semple leading the way with three.
- Semple continued to fill out the stat sheet nicely with three steals to lead the Red Flash in that category.
- Isabel Lumley had 12 saves once again in this contest to help the defense only surrender five goals to the Tigers.
- That is now back-to-back wins against Salem with the last victory coming on March 7th, 2021.

The Red Flash will continue to play in Ann Arbor on Sunday with a big matchup against No. 7 Michigan at 10:30 a.m. and their final game of the weekend facing Iona at 1:30 p.m.
