Men’s and Women’s Tennis Fall in Northeast Conference Quarterfinals

LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis University men's and women's tennis saw their seasons come to an end with a 4-0 loss to No. 2 St. Francis Brooklyn and No. 2 Fairleigh Dickinson, respectively, in the Northeast Conference Quarterfinals.

Singles
St. Francis Brooklyn won the first-three singles matches to finish and clinched the victory in the Northeast Conference Quarterfinals. Sebastian Pinos fell 3-6, 3-6 in No. 1 singles, Andrew Teixeira fell 4-6, 2-6 in No. 4 singles and Daniel Vinces fell 0-6, 6-7 in No. 5 singles.
 
Marc Fuste had the closest margin in the unfinished matches, as he was in the third set of a 6-3, 1-6, 0-1 match.
 
Doubles
The Terriers earned Thursday's doubles point with victories in No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. Pinos and Teixeira lost 4-6 in No. 2 doubles and Jordi Garcia and Christian Banti fell 0-6 in No. 3 doubles.

Singles
Fairleigh Dickinson won three matches in a row to begin singles play and clinch the NEC Quarterfinals victory. Anouk Ma-Ajong fell in No. 2 singles 3-6, 1-6, Anoek Pruijmboom dropped her No. 3 singles match 1-6, 1-6 and the Knights won via retirement in No. 6 singles.
 
Romina Cutipa held a 7-5, 2-1 lead in No. 5 singles before the match was marked unfinished with Fairleigh Dickinson already clinching its win.
 
Doubles
The Knights won the only two completed doubles matches to earn the point. Dominique Yeo and Valeria Vinces fell 4-6 in No. 1 doubles and Vandeputte and Ma-Ajong lost by the same margin in No. 3 doubles.
 
Prior to being marked unfinished, Pruijmboom and Cutipa were in a narrow 5-6 deficit in No. 2 doubles.
 
Next
The 2021-22 Saint Francis men's and women's tennis seasons have concluded. The teams will look towards the 2022 fall season.
