Whittington Adds Three Players to Finalize 2022 Signing Class

LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis University women's basketball head coach Keila Whittington added three players to finalize the 2022 signing class. The three additions of Filippa Goula, Harris Robinson and Marissa Shelton join the initial class of five players that signed on on Nov. 11.

"We are excited to bolster our guard depth with these three players," said Whittington. "They are all different from our initial signing class and we cannot wait to see how they will impact our team."

Filippa Goula
Goula is a 5-6 guard from Ano Liosia, Greece, where she played for 2nd High School of Ano Liosia. As a transfer junior, Goula most recently played two seasons at Northeastern Junior College. In her final season, she led the team with 16.5 points, 4.8 assists and 2.8 steals per game. She carried a 39.9 field goal and 31.7 three-point shooting percentage.

She was a member of the Greece National U16, U18 and U20 teams. Goula intends to major in exercise physiology at Saint Francis.

"Filippa is a tough and gritty point guard who will bring immediate experience to our team. She has had a successful career thus far leading her junior college team and as a point guard with the Greece National Team," said Whittington. "We wanted someone who had a great understanding of the game and could help right away, and we believe we have found that player."

Marissa Shelton
Shelton is a 5-8 guard from South Bend, Ind., where she played for John Adams High School. During her senior season, she averaged 23.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 2.4 steals per game. She scored a single-game career-high 39 points on Dec. 21, 2021.

She was an Indiana Basketball Coaches' Association All-State Honorable Mention as a senior and All-Northern Indiana Conference Honorable Mention as a junior.

"Marissa is a combo guard with a scoring mentality. She is a competitor who wants to continue to learn and grow," said Whittington. "Her energy and toughness on the court will be a welcoming addition to our program."

Harris Robinson
Robinson is a 5-8 guard from Pittsburgh, Pa., where she played for Avonworth High School. Prior to joining the Red Flash, she spent one season at Florida Atlantic University where she was a student manager. During her high school career, she was a two-time All-Conference selection and averaged 14.6 points, 8.4 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game in her junior season. She was also a WPIAL champion in track and field.

Academically, Robinson was a National Honor Society member and a Scholar-Athlete selection. She intends to major in biology at Saint Francis.

"Harris has a desire to be a part of the team and help in any way possible," said Whittington. "She will add depth to our guard position and will bring an infectious work ethic and attention to detail. We are happy to have her join our program."

The three additions join Nov. 11 signees Katie Ambrose, Destini Ward, Semaya Turner, Julianna Gibson and Jade Campbell to round out Saint Francis' 2022-23 roster. The roster will consist of one senior, three juniors, five sophomores, six freshmen.
