Men’s Soccer Falls to Maine At Fort Kent

TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
Senior defenseman Sean Smolyn (Holland, Pa./ YSC Academy) headed in a corner kick from freshman midfielder Julian Jakopovic (Stuttgart, Germany/ Schickhardt-Gymnasium Stuttgart) in the 24th minute, to tie up the match. Smolyn's shot would be the only Red Flash goal of the match.

FLASH MOMENT
Offensive efforts were led by Patrick Heron (Lauder, Scotland/ Earlston) and Smolyn who posted two shot attempts, while Alexios Rodriguez (Silver Springs, MD/ DeMatha Catholic) and Ahmed Abd-Elazem (Perry Hall, MD/ Perry Hall) recorded one shot a piece, respectively.

FLASH NUGGETS
Maine at Fort Kent held the advantage over Saint Francis in total shots (8-6) and shots on goal (8-6), while the Red Flash had the advantage in corner kicks (6-1).
 
Eight Red Flashes made their season debut against the Bengals, including three freshmen.
