Men’s Soccer Defeats Longwood, 2-1

TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
Saint Francis got on the board five minutes into the second half off of a Longwood goal kick. Midfielder Tobi Joseph (Darnestown, Md./ Northwest) put on the pressure and stole the ball from Longwood's goalkeeper to score his first goal of the season and making the score, 1-0.

FLASH MOMENTS
The opening half was a possession battle between the Lancers and the Red Flash with Saint Francis controlling play and creating scoring chances. The Red Flash recorded an 8-3 advantage in the first 45 minutes of the match, including a rocket off the left foot of Lorenz Ender (Ulm Germany/ North Kingstown) that was blocked by Longwood's goalkeeper in the 32nd minute of the match.
 
In a stride up right field, Ender crossed the ball right in front of the goal box for Nico Stoddart (Brampton, Canada/ David Suzuski SS). Stoddart pushed past Longwood's goalkeeper and took the ball to the goal for a 2-0 Red Flash lead in the 58th minute of the match.

FLASH NUGGETS
Stoddart recorded his third goal this season with two coming from the team's 4-1 victory over Bucknell.
 
Saint Francis held the advantage over Longwood in shots (16-11) and shots on goal (9-5), while the Lancer's took the advantage in corners (9-3).
 
Goalkeeper Jordaine Jaeger (Munich, Germany/ Gymnasium Neubiberg) faced 11 shots and registered four saves in the win.
