Women's Soccer Looks Ahead To Home Match Against Howard

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
>> The Red Flash will close out their five match home stand as they face off against the Howard Bison.
>> Saint Francis enter's Thursdays match with a 1-0-1 record in the NEC while Howard is 0-2 in conference play. 
>> Claire Miko was recognized as a NEC Prime Performer for her goal against Fairleigh Dickinson, it was also her first goal of the season.

LAST TIME OUT
The Red Flash and FDU were involved in a 90 minute battle as both teams saw opportunities throughout, but ultimately both teams couldn't get a deciding goal as the match ended in a 1-1 tie. Miko scored the lone Saint Francis goal almost immediately after the second half began during a free kick opportunity that she buried in the top right corner of the net. Sarah McConnon recorded two saves in net for the Red Flash as she and the rest of the Saint Francis defense played their part in helping keep the Knights offense at bay. 

WORD ON HOWARD
The Bison come into Thursday's matchup with a 0-7-1 record overall and have played two conference matches against FDU and Merrimack which both resulted in losses. Howard is led on offense by Melea Earley who leads the team in goals with three and points as she has seven on the season. In net, Howard is guided by Kennedy Jones who has started every match during the season and  has recorded 46 saves and 17 goals allowed. 

LAST TIME WE MET 
These two teams previously met last year when the Bison came away with a 2-0 win on October 21st. Additionally, the Red Flash own a 7-2 record in the series history as before last season Saint Francis won the previous five matchups against Howard. Also, Saint Francis has a 4-0 record when they play the Bison at home in Stokes Soccerplex.


UP NEXT
The Red Flash will hit the road for the first time since September 4th when they travel to do battle against Merrimack. The match is scheduled for Thursday, October 6th at 3 p.m. and the match can be seen on NEC Front Row.
