Volleyball Set for First Conference Road Trip to FDU

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
>> Saint Francis University women's volleyball will begin its conference road schedule this weekend by taking on the Knights of Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday, Oct. 1 at 4:00 p.m.

THE WORD ON FAIRLEIGH DICKINSON
The Knights started off conference action the same way the Red Flash did in that the Knights defeated Merrimack and Stonehill in straight sets to be 2-0 in conference.
 
The Knight are currently undefeated at home after winning its last four games in straight sets. Most recently, Fairleigh Dickinson defeated the Peacocks of Saint Peter's in a Wednesday evening matchup in Hackensack, N.J.
 
Kylie Nott leads the Knights overall this season with 159 kills, while Hannah Schmidt leads the squad overall in service aces and assists with 19 and 333, respectively. Allegra Rivas and Tatijana Fucka lead the way on the defensive end. Rivas with 157 digs and Fucka with 48.0 blocks.
 
LAST TIME WE MET
The Red Flash hold the overall advantage against the Knights at 34-27 in the series. Saint Francis went 2-0 against Fairleigh Dickinson last season with the first win coming in straight sets in Loretto and the next in four at New Jersey.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Red Flash started off its conference slate 2-0 last weekend by defeating Stonehill and Merrimack in back-to-back straight set wins. Madi Tyus and Emma Fenton led the way for the Red Flash last weekend for the two Red Flash women's volleyball players to earn a spot on the Northeast Conference Prime Performer list. Fenton notched 66 assists over six sets for an average of 11 assists per set, while Tyus recorded 26 kills, 12 digs and four blocks for a total of 28.0 points for the Red Flash.
 
Maggie Hogan leads the Red Flash overall in kills and service aces this season with 155 kills and 24 aces. Aubrey Deptula and Maggie Means lead the team on the defensive end this season. Means with 165 digs and Deptula with 45.0 blocks.
 
UP NEXT
Following this weekend's road match to the Knights, the Red Flash will return home to continue conference action by taking on Central Connecticut on Friday, Oct. 7 and Sacred Heart on Saturday, Oct. 8. Both matches are scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
