Korrin Burns (Shippenville, Pa./Clarion Area) led the way for the Red Flash by recording a new career high of 24 kills on the day.
Maggie Hogan (Northern Cambria, Pa./Northern Cambria) and
Allison Murray (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) followed closely in behind with 29 kills collectively.

TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
With the match tied 2-2, a fifth set was needed to determine a winner. Just like sets one through four, the fifth set was no different in that both teams battled back-and-forth with the match seeing a total of 37 tied scores. The Dukes maintained the lead throughout most of the fifth set. With the final set tied 13-13, kills from Murray and Hogan sealed the five-set win for the Red Flash.
FLASH MOMENTS
The first set saw 15 tied scores and seven lead changes. In the middle of the first set, the Red Flash put up a 4-1 run to claim its first lead of the match and make the score 14-13. Both teams continued to fight for the lead for the remainder of the first set. With the set tied at 26, kills from Hogan and Burns secured the extended first set for the Red Flash at a score of 28-26.
With the Red Flash down 13-11 in the third set, the team put up a 10-2 run to make the score 22-15. A kill from
Aubrey Deptula (Boca Raton, Fla./Boca Raton Community) gave the Red Flash the third set with a score of 25-19.
FLASH NUGGETS
The Red Flash continued the momentum by starting the second set off with a 4-2 run that featured a couple kills from Burns but the Dukes responded to tie the set up 5-5. The Dukes took the lead and maintained it until the Red Flash rallied its way back late in the second set. With Saint Francis down, 20-16 the team responded with a 5-1 run thanks to kills from Deptula, Murray and Burns along with back-to-back service aces from Hogan to tie the set at 21. However, with the second set tied at 23, Duquesne put up a 2-0 run to clinch the second set, 25-23.
The Dukes took the 4-3 lead early in the fourth set to never allow the Red Flash to lead again in the fourth set. Duquesne claimed the fourth set with a score of 25-19.

The Red Flash will hit the road to Richmond, K.Y. this weekend for the Colonel Challenge hosted by Eastern Kentucky on Sept. 9-10.
