LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis University women's basketball heads to New York City for the second straight weekend, this time to face St. Francis Brooklyn on Saturday, Jan. 21. The game will be played at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Saint Francis dropped its second home game of the conference season 73-60 against Sacred Heart. Saint Francis pulled out to a 13-7 lead in the first four and a half minutes of the game behind two three-point shots by
Adison Novosel and Goula. Sacred Heart responded with a 10-0 run across the next two minutes and ended the first quarter with a 26-17 lead. A nearly even second quarter saw the Pioneers enter halftime with a 41-29 lead. In the third quarter, Sacred Heart led by 14 points, 45-31, under two minutes into the frame. Saint Francis cut the deficit to nine points, 52-43, at the end of the third quarter. Miller led off the fourth quarter with a two and cut the deficit to seven points, before the Pioneers ended the lead back to nine points with two free throws. The Red Flash were only able to get within eight points before Sacred Heart sealed its victory.
Scouting St. Francis Brooklyn
The Terriers enter Saturday's game with a 3-2 conference and 4-13 overall record. St. Francis Brooklyn has lost two of its last three games, which included a 70-39 defeat to currently undefeated Fairleigh Dickinson. Alyssa Fisher leads the NEC with 20 points per game in conference play and is second overall with 16.4. She has scored at least 20 points in five of the past seven games. Tyra Myers is second of the team with 8.7 points per game and has double-digit points in five of the past seven games. Sarah Brandoma is seventh in the conference with 6.2 rebounds per game, while Eszter Varga is 10th with 2.3 assists per game.

Saint Francis owns a 49-21 overall record over St. Francis Brooklyn since the first matchup in 1986. The Terriers are on a current three-game winning streak and won the last matchup 57-54 in overtime last season.
