PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Saint Francis University football's comeback effort against in-state rival Duquesne fell short in a 38-35 loss. The Red Flash trailed the Dukes 31-7 at halftime.

Turning Points of the Game
Duquesne scored the only points of the first quarter with a 17-yard passing touchdown for a 7-0 lead. In the second quarter, the Dukes kicked a field goal before Imbt scored his first rushing touchdown and cut the deficit to 10-7.
In the final 2:30 of the second quarter, Duquesne piled on 21 points off 29-yard and 69-yard passing touchdowns and a fumble recovery for a touchdown on a punt snap and took a 31-7 lead into halftime.
Jordan Jackson scored the only points of the third quarter as time expired with a one-yard touchdown and cut the deficit to 31-14. Duquesne matched the Red Flash touchdown with a four-yard rushing score and regained a 24-point lead 38-14.
With 8:32 remaining in the game, Imbt scored his second touchdown of the game followed by McLeer's blocked punt return for a touchdown and cut the deficit to 38-28. After Duquesne missed a 38-yard field goal attempt,
Jayden Ivory scored on the ensuing drive with 57 seconds remaining and cut the lead to 38-35.
Saint Francis recovered the ensuing onside kick with 54 seconds remaining of the Duquesne 45. The Red Flash set up a 45-yard field goal with 10 seconds remaining that missed left and Duquesne clinched its 38-35 victory.
Flash Nuggets
McLeer's first-career touchdown marked the first Saint Francis blocked punt for a touchdown since Nov. 6, 2021 against Sacred Heart. Frye's blocked punt on the play was the first for Saint Francis this season.
Imbt, listed as a 6-3, 310-point offensive lineman, is the second Red Flash player with multiple touchdowns in a game this season.
Doyle set a career-high with 86 rushing yards and has at least 70 rushing yards in three of the last four games. The 204 passing yards was his second-highest mark this season.
Jake Bruno recorded a career-high 54 receiving yards with a career-long 43-yard reception that set up Imbt's first touchdown.
With three pass-breakups,
Blye Hill now sits atop the Red Flash with five this season.
