BEHIND THE TOURNAMENTÂ
The Saint Francis University Bowling team will fly to sunny Central Florida to compete in the Destination Orlando tournament on October 27-29 at the AMF Sky Lanes in Orlando, Florida. The Destination tournament, a conglomerate idea from several of the nation's top bowling programs, will be among the toughest tournaments for the Red Flash in the 2023-24 season. The schedule could see Saint Francis face three of the top five teams in the nation in No. 1 Vanderbilt, No. 2 Arkansas State and No. 5 Stephen F. Austin.
LAST TIME ON THE LANESÂ
The Red Flash bowling squad returns to the lanes after a week off following their weekend at the MOTIV Penguin Classic in Struthers, Ohio. The Flash finished 12th of 13 teams in the tournament, which featured highlight wins over No. 3 Nebraska and No. 19 Central Missouri.
Sophomore
Mackenzie Keane finished the tournament 10th place individually, bowling a 201.6 traditional average and playing a pivotal role in all four Saint Francis victories on the weekend.Â
NEW AND OLD COMPETITIONÂ
The Red Flash will get their first look at Emmanuel and Jacksonville State, as they will likely bowl against at least one of the programs this weekend. While the Emmanuel Lions have been around for nearly a decade, Jacksonville State began their program this year, hiring former McKendree head coach Shannon O'Keefe to start the program for the Gamecocks. Thanks to O'Keefe's resume from her time leading the Bearcats, Jacksonville State began the season ranked No. 7 in the nation.
Saint Francis could also face Florida A&M and Texas Southern, both of whom the Red Flash last competed against in 2015. Neither school comes into the competition ranked, as they are just two of five schools in the tournament not to earn a vote from the National Tenpin Coaches Association.
A PACKED FLORIDA TRIPÂ
With only five unranked programs competing in Orlando this weekend, the remaining 15 teams in the tournament earned at least a vote in the Preseason NTCA polls. 11 teams come into the competition ranked, including six of the nation's ten best teams. Daemen, Monmouth, Saint Francis and Alabama-Birmingham all received at least one vote before the season began.

Saturday, October 28: Five matches beginning at 8:30 AM
Sunday, October 29: Three best-of-seven matches beginning at 8:30 AM
