Women's Volleyball Takes Down Le Moyne in Three Sets

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
>>The Red Flash defeated Le Moyne in three sets (25-13, 25-14, 25-14).

>>Skye Eicher (Rostraver Township, Pa.) led the team with 14 kills, earning her 500th career kill in the win.

TURNING POINT
Tied at eight apiece, Saint Francis continued to take advantage of errors by the Dolphins and put up points of their own to win the match in the third set. Allison Murray (Pittsburgh, Pa.) sent the ball to the back corner of the Le Moyne side to break the tie. With an assist from Emma Fenton (Latrobe, Pa.), Maggie Hogan (Northern Cambria, Pa.) sent a hardball just past the Dolphins. Drew Wallech (Hagerstown, Md.) took advantage of miscommunication from Le Moyne to give Saint Francis an 11-8 lead.

Later in the third frame, Murray dropped the ball into the middle of the Le Moyne side, earning another kill. Jordan Green (Hanover, Md.) subbed into the match, making her collegiate debut, before Eicher went back to serve for the Red Flash. The Dolphins received Eicher's serve but could not play it, setting up match point. With Eicher still serving, she sent over another playable ball, but Le Moyne could not return it, earning Eicher another ace and giving Saint Francis the win.

FLASH MOMENTS
After taking set one with a commanding 25-13 score, the Red Flash kept the momentum in the second set. Le Moyne began the set with a 4-3 lead, but a kill by Kori McClure (Westerville, Ohio) kicked off a five-point run. Eicher then found holes in the Dolphins' defense, recording back-to-back kills. An error by Le Moyne earned the Red Flash another point before Eicher could once again score.

Later in the second set, a service error by the Dolphins gave the serve back to Saint Francis. Elena Arnold (Wexford, Pa.) and Aubrey Deptula (Boca Raton, Fla.) blocked an attack by Le Moyne, keeping momentum with the Red Flash. After another error by Le Moyne, Hogan found a weak spot on the Dolphins' side, tallying back-to-back service aces and setting up set point at 24-9. The Dolphins fought back, but Arnold got the ball past the Le Moyne defense to take the second set.
