Women's Volleyball Beats Le Moyne in Straight Sets

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
>>The Red Flash defeat Le Moyne in three sets (25-20, 25-21, 25-13).

>>Skye Eicher (Rostraver Township, Pa.) led the Red Flash offense with 11 kills.

TURNING POINT
With momentum on the Red Flash's side, Saint Francis pulled ahead early to win the match. The set began at three points apiece, but a kill by Kori McClure (Westerville, Ohio) put the Red Flash ahead. Allison Murray (Pittsburgh, Pa.) sent one into the back corner on the Dolphins' side, keeping the momentum. Emma Fenton (Latrobe, Pa.) found holes on the Le Moyne side, recording back-to-back service aces. A kill just inside by Eicher gave the Red Flash a comfortable 8-3 lead.

Widening the lead to seven at 19-12, another kill by Murray helped push the Red Flash closer to the win. Eicher sailed the ball across the Le Moyne side, making the score 20-12. Murray sent the ball over the net, not allowing the Dolphins to score. More errors by Le Moyne extended the Saint Francis lead to 23-12. Le Moyne tried to fight back with a kill of their own, but Murray tallied her 11th kill of the match, bringing up set point. With Red Flash fans on their feet, Aubrey Deptula (Boca Raton, Fla.) scored the match-winning service ace with the ball hitting a Le Moyne player and sailing out of play.

FLASH MOMENT
Despite the Dolphins leading much of the opening set, the Red Flash fought back to win the set. Murray began the comeback, sending the ball past the Dolphin's defense twice to tie and then take a 20-19 lead. Errors by the Dolphins furthered the lead, drawing a timeout by Le Moyne. An error by Saint Francis kept it close, but two more attack errors by the Dolphins brought up set point. Murray found the angle from the right, tallying the set-winning kill.

FLASH NUGGETS
Korrin Burns (Clarion, Pa.) followed Eicher with kills, tallying 11. Fenton led the team in service aces with three.

Deptula led at the net, earning one solo block and three assisted blocks. Murray also recorded three assisted blocks. Maggie Hogan (Northern Cambria, Pa.) registered a team-most 11 digs.
