LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis University women's basketball hosts its second home game of the season on Monday, Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. against Coppin State.

Last Time Out
Saint Francis fell in its first road game of the season 78-62 at Canisius. The Golden Griffins led 17-5 early in the game before Saint Francis cut the deficit to 19-12 after one quarter. Saint Francis inched closer at 23-19 in the second quarter before Canisius opened a 37-28 lead at halftime. In the third, Canisius its lead to 62-44 at the end of the frame after Saint Francis only trailed by six earlier in the quarter. Canisius led by as many as 22 points in the fourth before clinching its victory.
Scouting Coppin State
The Eagles enter Monday's game with an 0-2 record after a 73-68 loss to La Salle and 68-55 loss to Campbell. Monday will be Coppin State's first road game of the season. Angel Jones leads the team with 18.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game after she transferred in from Siena. Faith Blackstone (13.0) and Laila Lawrence (12.0) round out Coppin State's three shooters averaging double digits. Blackstone in a three-time transfer and Lawrence is a transfer from Texas A&M – Commerce. Mossi Staples leads the team with 3.5 steals per game after she paced Coppin State with 1.7 per game last season. The Eagles were selected fifth in the MEAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
All-Time vs. Coppin State
Saint Francis and Coppin State are locked into a 2-2 tie all-time and Monday's game marks the third straight season opposing each other. The Red Flash took the first two meetings in 2010 and 2011 before the Eagles won the last two meetings. Maxwell and Ward are the only current Red Flash players to appear in a game against Coppin State.
Around the NEC
The Northeast Conference is still seeking its first victory of the season. Two teams are 0-3, four teams are 0-2 and three teams are 0-1. Merrimack has twice fell by three points to two America East opponents NJIT and UAlbany. Five NEC programs are in action on Sunday, Nov. 12.
