LORETTO, Pa. - Senior bowler Kassidy Landwehr will conclude her academic and athletic career at Saint Francis this December, head coach Ashley Bingham announced this morning.

The Summerville, S.C., native is one of four seniors set to bowl their final season with Saint Francis. However, she is scheduled to finish her Criminal Justice and Pre-Law studies at the end of this semester, allowing her to graduate in the 2023 winter class, a semester earlier than projected.

On the lanes, Landwehr has been one of the leaders of the Red Flash bowling squad since arriving in Loretto in 2020, and Coach Bingham referenced the loss and how it might affect the team's second half.

"It is sad that Kassidy is leaving so early, but I am very excited for her and her journey into what she is looking to do. We are losing a valuable player, but in the end, the team will rally together and get the job done."

Landwehr's performance at the first NEC tournament this past weekend shows how significant the loss is for the Red Flash. She started in either the fourth or fifth spot in the lineup in all seven matches in New Jersey, bowling to a fourth-place individual finish while helping the team to a 5-2 record that placed third among conference opponents.

The 2024 team will continue with a roster of seven student-athletes that consists of the three remaining seniors and a pair of freshmen and sophomore bowlers who will compete to fill the frames left open by Landwehr's departure.

Although she will not be around to compete for the second semester, Landwehr plans to attend the Red Flash Invitational from January 26-28 at the Holiday Bowl in Altoona and will be honored alongside the rest of the senior class.

Landwehr and the rest of the Red Flash bowling squad will finish 2023 at the UMES Hawk Classic on November 17-19 and the second NEC tournament on December 2-3. These tournaments and most others will be streamed live on the team's Facebook page, and the latest updates will be posted to the team's X page.
