LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis University women's basketball is set for its first Power Five opponent of the season on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 12 p.m. against Rutgers.
 
Saint Francis Quick Hits
Yanessa Boyd is set to lead the charge of scoring ahead of Rutgers with her 7.7 points per game. She is followed by Kendall Carruthers' 6.7 points per game she also tied for the team lead with three steals. Marina Artero and Harris Robinson lead the charge rebounding with 5.7 per game, followed by 5.3 from Julianna Gibson and Destini Ward.
 
Last Time Out
Saint Francis dropped its second home game of the season 70-34 to Coppin State. The Eagles started the game with a 10-1 run before saint Francis cut the deficit to 13-8 after one quarter. In the second, Coppin State outscored Saint Francis 20-3 and took a 33-11 lead at the half. Coppin State outscored Saint Francis 22-14 in the third and 15-9 in the fourth to clinch its victory.
 
Scouting Rutgers
The Scarlet Knights hold a 2-2 record with victories over Monmouth and Wagner, and losses to Auburn and Seton Hall. Rutgers defeated Wagner 86-43 on Nov. 9. Destiny Adams paces Rutgers with 15.3 points, 11.3 rebounds and 2.8 steals per game with two double-doubles this season. She is followed by Kaylene Smikle's 14.3 points and Chyna Cornell's 10.3 points per game this season.
 
All-Time vs. Rutgers
Rutgers holds a 2-0 advantage over Saint Francis with victories 73-43 in 1998 and 96-52 in 2018. In the 1997 matchup, the two programs faced off in the Preseason WNIT and Rutgers was ranked No. 12 in the AP Poll.
 
Around the NEC
Sacred Heart remains the only Northeast Conference team with a victory this season as of Nov. 16. The Pioneers defeated Monmouth 59-50 and Morgan State 63-55. Every NEC team, except Merrimack, is in action Between Nov. 17-19 headlined by one Power Five matchup – Saint Francis at Rutgers.
