Men’s Soccer Falls to Sacred Heart in NEC Semifinal PK Heartbreaker

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
>> Saint Francis men's soccer battled Sacred Heart to a 1-1 draw in regulation but were eliminated from Northeast Conference Championship contention in a heartbreaking penalty kick shootout Thursday afternoon at the Stokes Soccerplex.
 
>> The Red Flash finished the season 7-0-8 overall and 5-0-3 in conference, remaining unbeaten on the season.

TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
Just 30 seconds into the second half, Fabian Wagner (Grunsfeld, Germany) found the back of the net from a Charlie Lucero (Aurora, Colo.) cross. The score was Wagner's third of the season.
FLASH MOMENT
Goalkeeper Jordaine Jaeger (Munich, Germany) made a huge stop at the 77th minute to keep the match leveled at 1-1. A Pioneers' striker beat the Red Flash backline to take on Jaeger 1v1. Jaeger quickly moved off the goal line and closed the angle to block a shot on goal.

>> Saint Francis held the 14-5 advantage in shots and the 7-4 edge in corner kicks.
 
>> Joschi Schelb (Freiburg, Germany) led the Red Flash offensively with three shots.
