Women’s Basketball Hosts St. Francis Brooklyn for Think Pink Game

LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis University women's basketball hosts its Think Pink Game on Thursday at 7 p.m. against St. Francis Brooklyn. Saint Francis will recognize breast cancer survivors and those still fighting.  
 
Saint Francis Quick Hits
Aaliyah Moore ranks 35th in the NCAA Division I with 9.5 rebounds per game, which is 2.1 higher than any other player in the Northeast Conference. She leads the Red Flash with 9.6 points per game and averages 10.7 per game in 12 conference games played. She earned her sixth NEC Prime Performer of the season on Feb. 13. Semaya Turner tied her career-high with 18 points against Merrimack and is second on Saint Francis with 8.1 points per game during conference play, despite being sixth on the team with 22.2 minutes per game. Destini Ward recorded her fifth double-digit scoring game of the season with 12 points against Merrimack and she is third on the team with 7.2 points per game this season. Saint Francis is second in the conference with a 2.9 rebounding margin and is one of only three teams with a positive margin this season.
 
Last Time Out
Saint Francis dropped its second game of the season to Merrimack 80-62. Both teams traded scores for the first seven minutes of the game before the Warriors took a 17-13 lead after one quarter. Merrimack produced a 12-6 advantage in the second quarter and took a 29-19 lead into halftime. In the third quarter, Saint Francis stayed within 11 points, 42-31, with 5:51 remaining before Merrimack went on an 18-9 run to end the quarter and took a 60-40 lead. In the fourth quarter, the Warriors led by as many as 27 points before sealing its victory.
 
Scouting St. Francis Brooklyn
The Terriers are third in the NEC standings with an 8-4 conference record and are 9-15 overall this season. St. Francis Brooklyn lost its most recent game to Stonehill, 69-61, after winning five of its previous six games. Alyssa Fisher ranks second in the NEC with 16.9 points per game overall and 18.9 in conference games this season. Her 2.1 three-point field goals per game rank second in the conference and her 1.5 steals per game rank fifth. Sarah Bandoma leads the NEC with 1.4 blocks per game and ranks fourth with 6.7 rebounds per game.
 
All-Time vs. St. Francis Brooklyn
Saint Francis holds a 49-21 overall advantage over St. Francis Brooklyn, but the Terriers are on a four-game winning streak. In the first meeting this season, a 62-54 St. Francis Brooklyn win, Moore scored a career-high 18 points on 6-of-10 shooting, while Fisher also scored 18 points on 6-of-14 shooting. The Red Flash hold a 27-7 all-time advantage over the Terriers at home.

Fairleigh Dickinson remains atop the standings with a 10-1 record after a dominant 81-48 win over Central Connecticut. Current third-place St. Francis Brooklyn fell to 8-4 after a 69-61 loss to Stonehill, who improved to 3-9. LIU won its second conference game of the season 78-68 over Wagner and handed the Seahawks their fifth straight loss. Merrimack defeated Saint Francis 80-62 and moved to 7-5 in the conference behind a five-game winning streak. On Thursday, LIU hosts Stonehill, Wagner hosts Central Connecticut, Saint Francis hosts St. Francis Brooklyn and Fairleigh Dickinson hosts Sacred Heart in a battle of the first and second ranked teams.

Saint Francis returns has its final home game of the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 7 p.m. The game will be senior day, where the Red Flash will honor Sam Miller.
