OPENING TIP
• Saturday's game between Saint Francis and LIU marks the 86th meeting in the all-time series dating back to the 1963-64 season.
• The Sharks lead the series 44-41, including a 27-11 record in Brooklyn and the last four games at the Wellness Center.
• The last win for the Red Flash at the Wellness Center was a 74-67 decision in 2018-19.

THE WORD ON LIU
• The Sharks come into the contest 3-23 overall and 1-13 in NEC play after falling 75-60 at Stonehill on Thursday.
• Tre Woods powered LIU with 20 points against the Skyhawks, while RJ Greene (12 points) and Cheikh Ndiaye (10 points) also had double digits.

LAST TIME WE MET
Landon Moore and Maxwell Land combined for 43 points to lift Saint Francis past LIU 87-68 on January 14.
• Both players scored NEC career highs with Moore leading the way with 22 points, while Land had 21 points and eight rebounds.
Josh Cohen (13 points, nine rebounds) and Brad McCabe (13 points, eight rebounds) also found double figures.
• Marko Maletic paced the Sharks with 20 points. Andre Washington (15 points), C.J. Delancy (10 points) and Jacob Johnson (11 rebounds) also notched a statistical double-figure performance.

LAST TIME OUT
• Redshirt junior Josh Cohen registered 21 points and 12 rebounds, including scoring his 1,000th point in the first half, but it was freshman Cam Gregory that gave the Red Flash the lead for good en route to a 72-64 win against St. Francis Brooklyn on Thursday afternoon.
• Gregory, who had an NEC career-high 10 points, registered seven points in the decisive run to lift the Red Flash to the win. The freshman gave the team lead it would not relinquish on a driving layup with 11:29 left in the contest.
• Cohen scored on a layup with 16:54 left in the first half to become the 43rd player in program history to score 1,000 points in his career.
• Junior Maxwell Land added 16 points while fellow junior Ronell Giles, Jr.  chipped in 10 points in the winning effort.

A SFU WIN WOULD
• Be the team's third win on the road this year
• Be the team's third road win in the state of New York
• Sweep the season series with the Terriers for the first time since 2013-14 campaign
• Be the team's third win in the month of February
• Have the team go 2-0 in a road weekend for the first time since 2016-17, also in the two games in Brooklyn

TRENDING UP
• Along with scoring his 1,000th point, redshirt junior Josh Cohen is making moves on several season and career charts.
• The redshirt junior has moved past some of his new 1,000-point brethren, jumping two spots into 41st place with 1,019 points. He can move into the Top-40 with 16 points, 39th place with 17 points and 38th place with 26 points.
• After his NEC career-high tying 12 rebounds at St. Francis Brooklyn, Cohen needs 10 rebounds to reach 500 rebounds in his career. He would become the 29th player in program history to reach the half grand and the 20th player to register 1,000 points and 500 rebounds.
• Currently sitting at 563 points, Cohen has moved into a tie for 14th place on the program's program single-season list with Keith Braxton (2019-20) and Jamal King (2017-18). With two points he would surpass Isaiah Blackmon (564, 2019-20) for the most points scored under head coach Rob Krimmel in his 11 seasons at the helm. Blackmon, Mike Iuzzolino (574, 1989-90) and Joe Anderson (580, 1989-90) are the only players Cohen needs to pass on his way to becoming the 11th player in team history with 600 points in a single season.
• Cohen also has 216 made field goals, needing five field goals to move into ninth place on the single-season field goal list, seven field goals to move into eighth place and 11 to move into seventh place.
• Cohen has registered 20 points in three-straight games for the second time this season. He can match his career best four-straight 20-point games with another 20-point performance. The redshirt junior has also registered 20 points in nine of the last 10 road games .
• Junior Maxwell Land has registered six 20-point games in his career and he has posted a pair of 20-point games against two opponents. The junior, who also has a pair of 20-point contests against Sacred Heart, registered his first career 20-point game at LIU on January 8, 2021 and his last trick was also against the Sharks with an NEC career-high 21 points on January 16.
• Land has also registered double figures in four-straight games and 11 of the 13 league games this season. The junior, who needs 17 points for 800 points in his career, is averaging 13.0 points per game in league games this season.
• Freshman Cam Gregory notched his second career 10-point game of his career and his first since registering a career-high 15 points at Ohio State on December 3 on his way to the NEC Rookie of the Week honor.  He has six games this season with at least eight points.

FRANKIES TIDBITS IN A FLASH
• Redshirt junior Josh Cohen became the 43rd player in program history to reach 1,000 points in his career and the fifth under head coach Rob Krimmel with his layup with 16:43 left in the first half against St. Francis Brooklyn on Thursday.
• The redshirt junior was the first player to reach the milestone since Isaiah Blackmon hit the mark against LIU in the NEC Semifinals on March 9, 2018.
• Cohen was the third player to reach the feat on the road under Krimmel, while the team improved to 4-1 in the grand game under the coach.
• Cohen joins Blackmon, Keith Braxton, Earl Brown and Jamal King as the 1,000-point scorers in the last 11 years. Blackmon, Braxton and King were teammates for three seasons.
• Saint Francis picked up its second road win of the season at St. Francis Brooklyn on Thursday and both road wins have come in the state of New York.
• The Red Flash is currently 2-1 against the Empire State on the road with the lone loss at Saint Bonaventure in the season opener on November 7.
• The team is looking for its first back-to-back road wins since defeating FDU 78-65 on February 10, 2022 and CCSU 79-63 on February 24, 2022.
• Saint Francis is looking for its first 2-0 road trip over a three-day span since defeating LIU and St. Francis Brooklyn in 2016-17. That was the only time the team swept the Brooklyn trip under Krimmel, while the team also went 3-0 on the road that season against the state of New York in league play during that campaign.
• The Red Flash is currently 4-0 against the three NEC teams from the Empire State with games at LIU on Saturday and at home against Wagner in the regular season finale on February 25. The Loreto team is looking to go a perfect 6-0 against the three teams from New York for just the second time in program history. The 1989-90 squad was 6-0 against New York. The 1982-83 team was 3-0 against the state, but only played each NYC team once that season.
• With a win on Saturday, the Frankies can clinch its seventh non-losing season under Krimmel with its eighth NEC win of the year. It would also be the 20th time in program history it would register a non-losing season in league play.
• With three games left, the Loretto program can clinch its fifth NEC winning season under the head coach and the 12th since joining the NEC in 1981-82 with two victories.
• Saint Francis is in a two-way tie with Sacred Heart at the moment for third place with three games remaining. The two teams split the regular season, but the Red Flash currently holds the tiebreaker with the Pioneers after splitting the season series with current NEC leader Stonehill, while Sacred Heart lost both contests to the Skyhawks. NOTE: Stonehill is not eligible for the postseason, but its standing is used to break tiebreakers.
• If Merrimack and FDU are a part of any tiebreakers for first place, Sacred Heart would hold the edge with Saint Francis after the Pioneers defeated the Knights twice and the Warriors once.
• If the postseason were to start today, Saint Francis would host CCSU in the 3/6 NEC Quarterfinals on March 1  in Loretto.
• Saint Francis will return home to host FDU and Wagner in the final regular season weekend.
• The Loretto program will open and close the conference schedule at home for the seventh time in program history and the first time since the 2017-18 campaign.
