ELON, N.C. – Saint Francis University softball fell in its final game of the Phoenix Classic in Elon, N.C. 3-0 to Fordham.

Rachel Marsden (1-4) took the loss after she allowed three runs (two earned) on two hits with two walks and three strikeouts in two innings.

Grace Vesco pitched four scoreless innings in relief and allowed one hit with no walks and seven strikeouts.

Olivia Ulam went 2-for-3, while
Brianna Sawyers recorded the only other Red Flash hit.
TURNING POINTS OF THE GAME
» Fordham did all the game's damage in the second inning when they pushed three runs across. A fielder's choice, walk and groundout drove in all-three of the runs during the inning.
» Ulam recorded Saint Francis' first hit of the game in the fourth inning. She also led off the seventh inning with a single, but Saint Francis could not get past first base.
FLASH NUGGETS
» Ulam recorded her first multi-hit game of the season after she recorded 13 last season.
» One day after she moved to fourth in career strikeouts, Vesco recorded six today and raised her total to 429. The next milestones to reach are 446 (third) and 447 (second).
