TAMPA, Fla. – Saint Francis University softball dropped its only game on Saturday 11-3 in six innings to Florida Gulf Coast.

Grace Vesco (6-4) went 2.1 innings and allowed six runs (five earned) on four hits with three walks and three strikeouts.

Brianna Sawyers went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and one walk.

TURNING POINTS OF THE GAME
» Florida Gulf Coast started the scoring in the first inning with an unearned run and took a 1-0 lead. In the second inning, the Eagles added two more runs on a single.
» In the bottom of the second, Kane hit an RBI single to left center field and cut the deficit to 3-1. Florida Gulf Coast answered with five runs in the top of the third inning. The Eagles scored on a two-run triple, one-run single, steal of home, passed ball and fielder's choice.
» In the third inning, Sawyers led off with a solo home run, followed two batters later by an Ulam one-run double and cut the deficit to 8-3.
» The Eagles added one run each in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings before clinching its run-rule 11-3 victory.
FLASH NUGGETS
» Sawyers' home run was the first of her collegiate career and the RBI was her fifth to put her in a three-way tie for second on the team.
» Kane recorded the first hit of her collegiate career and now all-six Red Flash freshmen have a hit this season.
