TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
The Red Flash got on the board first with a 2-0 run in the first set to keep the Nittany Lions from taking the lead until the very end of the set. With the Red Flash up 25-24 in set one, Penn State notched a 3-0 run to take its first lead of the game and claim set one, 27-25. The Nittany Lions continued this momentum for the rest of the game to be able to come away with the straight set win.
FLASH MOMENTS
The second set was a very close game between the Red Flash and Nittany Lions featuring 11 tied scores. However, with the Red Flash down 20-18 in set two, Penn State recorded a 4-0 run to secure an 18-24 lead. Despite Penn State's run, the Red Flash were not finished yet by responding with a 4-0 run of their own, featuring back-to-back service aces from Parker. However, the Nittany Lions were eventually able to come away with the second set, 25-22.
The third and final set started off very close. However, with the Red Flash leading 7-5, the Nittany Lions put up a 4-0 run to take the lead and hold it for the remainder of the set. Penn State claimed the third set, 25-14.
FLASH NUGGETS
Liprando matched his game high of 4.0 total blocks in Saturday's game, which he first achieved last season against St. Francis Brooklyn.
