BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – Saint Francis University softball fell in its final game against LIU 1-0, but still took the series 2-1 against the Sharks. The Red Flash fell to 5-1 in conference play, while the Sharks moved to 5-1.

» Vesco and LIU pitcher Lindsey Cowans were in a pitcher's duel and allowed four hits in the firs four-and-a-half innings pitched.
» In the bottom of the fifth, LIU scored the first run after a single, stolen base, advance to third on a wild pitch and run scored on a dropped third strike. During the scoring play, catcher
Madeline Barnes threw home to complete the strikeout and LIU's pinch runner scored on the play.
» With Saint Francis unable to record any hits in the final two innings, LIU clinched its victory.
FLASH NUGGETS
» Vesco became the second pitcher in program history with 500-career strikeouts and now sits at 506. The game marked her third in a row allowing one run and she has six games with one or less runs allowed this season.
» Wilson and Pietrzykoski both extended their hitting streaks to seven games, which is also tied with
Brianna Sawyers for the longest by a Red Flash player this season. Sawyers saw her seven-game streak end on Monday.
