» Marsden and Sacred Heart pitcher Sam Kowalski were in a pitcher's duel and allowed five hits combined in the first three innings.
» The Pioneers broke through for the first run in the fourth inning with an RBI single and took a 1-0 lead. Sacred Heart extended its lead to 2-0 with a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning.
» Sacred Heart added three more runs in the sixth inning off an RBI double, RBI groundout and run scored on a wild pitch to open a 5-0 lead. With Saint Francis unable to respond, Sacred Heart clinched its victory.
