Track and Field Competes at Virginia Quadrangular

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
>> The Saint Francis University outdoor track and field teams competed at the Virginia Quadrangular hosted by the University of Virginia on Saturday.
 
>> Liberty, Norfolk State, Saint Francis and the University of Virginia were the competing teams.
 
>> Madeline Murphy (Cresson, Pa.) led the way for the Red Flash women taking first in the triple jump with a mark of 11.81m.
 
>> Jasir Parker (Queens, N.Y.) and Ardonntrell Williams (Voorhees, N.J.) earned first place finishes for the men. Parker with a season best mark of 14.78m in the triple jump and Williams finishing with a time of 13.74 in the 110m hurdles. Parker currently ranks 79th in the nation, while Williams ranks 40th in their respective events.

FLASH WOMEN NUGGETS
Saint Francis had 29 women compete at the meet on Saturday. The team compiled 10 top-three finishes.
 
Senior Monica Gregg (Henrietta, N.Y.) took second in the 800m run with her time of 2:17.73. Junior Mariclare Anderson (Hagerstown, Md.) finished third with a personal best time of 2:18.23).
 
In the 5000m run, senior Quinn McElhenny (Hastings, Pa.) placed second with a time of 18:47.90. Sophomore Tesslyn Helms (Pittsburgh, Pa.) took third with a time of 19:06.03.
 
Senior Olivia Conrad (Carrolltown, Pa.) threw for a season best 39.96m in the javelin to place second.
 
Senior Gabrielle Stanavich ran a season best 14.40 in the 100m hurdles to take fifth. The Amsterdam, N.Y. native also competed in the 400m hurdles running a 1:05.75 to place second.
 
Senior Jenna Beitel (Saltsburg, Pa.) finished third in the triple jump, clearing 11.34m.
 
The 4x100m relay team of Paige Drake (Monaca, Pa.), Maria Ferraro (Mechanicsburg, Pa.), Brooke Long (Altoona, Pa.) and Brooke Barner (Holbrook, Pa.) ran a season best time of 49.79 to take third.
 
The 4x400m relay team of Anderson, Barner, Ferraro and Drake placed second with a time of 4:18.54.

FLASH MEN NUGGETS
Saint Francis had 26 men compete in Charlottesville on Saturday. The team recorded five top-three performances.
 
Freshman Arnold Mve Ndjamen (Dakar, Senegal) placed third in the high jump with a personal best mark of 1.88m.
 
Caleb Nelson (Bridgeville, Pa.) took third in the long jump with a leap of 7.19m.
 
The 4x100m relay team of Bryce Baker (Harrisburg, Pa.), Julian Saunders (Boyertown, Pa.), David Niang (Harrisburg, Pa.) and Williams took second with a time of 42.32.

The Red Flash will compete at the York College Twilight Invitational Wednesday, April 5.
