Five Men's Track And Field Athletes Names To CSC Academic All-District Team

LORETTO, Pa. – Matthew Berzonsky (Indiana, Pa./Indiana), Troy Donlan (Elysburg, Pa./Southern Columbia), Daniel Kelly (Spring Mills, Pa./Penns Valley), Brady Reese (Catawissa, Pa./Southern Columbia) and Ardonntrell Williams (Voorhees, N.J./Lower Merion), members of the Saint Francis University men's track and field team, have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team. The quintet will move onto the national ballot for a chance to earn CSC Academic All-America. 

Berzonsky, a senior distance runner on both the cross country and track and field teams, was a member of the silver medal 4x800 relay team at the Northeast Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships in May and helped score points for Saint Francis with a fifth-place standing in the distance medley relay at the NEC Indoor Track and Field Championships in February. During the cross country season, he finished 37th at the NEC Cross Country Championships in October and was 164th at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Region Cross Country Championships in November. An environmental engineering major, Berzonsky boasts a 3.90 grade-point average. 

Donlan, a senior thrower for the Red Flash track and field team, finished 13th in the shot put at the NEC Outdoor Track and Field Championships and 14th in the hammer throw. The senior was also 14th in the shot put and 18 in the weight throw at the indoor championships. Donlan registered a Top-10 finish at the 2022 NEC Indoor Track and Field Championships with a ninth place standing in the weight throw. A general engineering major, Donlan holds a 3.63 grade-point average. 

Kelly, a sophomore distance runner on both the cross country and track and field teams, placed 12th in the 3000m and 20th in the 5000m at the NEC Indoor Track and Field Championships in February and then posted a 19th-place standing in the 10,000m and a 20th-place finish in the 5,000m at the conference outdoor championships. An accounting major with an accelerated MBA track, Kelly boasts a 3.77 grade point average. 

Reese, a junior distance runner on both the cross country and track and field teams, participated in the NEC Championships for cross country, indoor track and field and outdoor track and field. He finished 18th in the mile run at the NEC Indoor Track and Field Championships, while racing in the 1500m and 5000m at the outdoor championships. He is an interdisciplinary health care studies major with a 3.62 grade point average. 

Williams, a junior on the men's track and field team, won the 110m hurdles and was a member of the first place 4x100m relay team at the NEC Outdoor Track and Field Championships in May. He also finished third at the IC4A/ECAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships and was 35 at the NCAA Division I East Preliminary Round last week. In addition, Williams placed second in the 60m hurdles at both the NEC Indoor Track and Field Championships and the IC4A/ECAC Indoor Track and Field Championships in the winter. Williams is an accounting major with a 3.83 grade point average. 

To be eligible for CSC All-District, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.5 grade-point average and participate in 50 percent of scheduled events. The student-athletes named to the CSC All-District advance to the national ballot for a chance to be named a CSC Academic All-America, which will be released on Thursday, June 29.  CSC changed its association name from CoSIDA in 2022.
