Men’s Soccer Remains Unbeaten with 1-0 Shutout Against Bucknell

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
>> The Saint Francis men's soccer team continues to remain unbeaten with a 1-0 shutout victory over nonconference Bucknell Tuesday afternoon at the Stokes Soccerplex.
 
>> The Red Flash move to 2-0-3 on the season.

TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
After a scoreless first half, Patrick Heron (Lauder, Scotland) drove the ball up the right sideline and found Fabian Wagner (Grunsfeld, Germany) onside just outside of the goal box. Wagner twisted his body around and pulled off a bicycle kick to give the Red Flash a 1-0 lead in the 71st minute. The goal was Wagner's first of his collegiate career.
 
FLASH MOMENT
In the 80th minute, a Bucknell midfielder was able to push his way through the Red Flash defense and launch a shot. Goalkeeper Jordaine Jaeger (Munich, Germany) made an extra effort save punching the ball up and out to preserve a 1-0 Red Flash lead.

FLASH NUGGETS
>> Over the 90 minutes, Saint Francis held the advantage over Bucknell in shots (8-5). The Bison had the edge in corners (8-0) and shots on goal (4-3).
 
>> Six different Red Flashes had shot attempts during the 90 minutes. Heron and Milan Djajic (Belgrade, Serbia) led the team with two apiece.
 
>> Jaeger made four saves to preserve a clean sheet.  
 
>> Freshman Surafel Abebe (Seattle, Wash.) made his first collegiate start against the Bison.
 
>> With the victory, Mads Kaiser has had the best start for a first-year head coach in program history.
