With the two-set lead, Villanova did not ease up in the third set. Saint Francis could not score back-to-back points until the score was already 4-12. The Red Flash fought to stay in the match but could not come out on top in the set, giving the Wildcats the win.
FLASH MOMENTS
Saint Francis took an 8-3 lead in the first set, going on a five-point run.
Skye Eicher (Rostraver Township, Pa.) earned a service ace, and Hogan tallied a kill. Errors by the Wildcats also helped give the Red Flash the lead.
Later in the set, Hogan earned two more kills.
Korrin Burns (Clarion, Pa.) registered two of her own, with
Alexandra Sappia (West Palm Beach, Fla.) earning a service ace in the late five-point run to take a 21-20 lead before dropping the set.
FLASH NUGGETS
Burns and Hogan each tallied 10 kills for the Saint Francis offense. Eicher and Sappia had two service aces apiece.
Raegan Rosi (Owensboro, Ky.) and Burns led the Red Flash defense with 10 digs each. Four different players each recorded a block in the match:
