Kendall Carruthers dropped a career-high 30 points, but the Red Flash fell 72-64 at LIU.

» Carruthers scored her 30 points on 11-of-19 shooting from the field and 8-of-9 from three-point territory. She added four assists and four rebounds.

TURNING POINTS OF THE GAME
LIU jumped out to a 21-9 lead with 1:16 remaining in the first quarter before back-to-back Carruthers threes cut the deficit to 21-15. With a 24-15 lead at the end of the first, LIU outscored Saint Francis 14-9 in the second quarter and took a 38-24 lead into halftime.

Down 49-34 with 4:31 remaining in the third quarter, Saint Francis ended the frame on an 11-7 run and cut the deficit to 56-45. LIU then led by 14 points, 68-54, with three minutes remaining before a 10-0 run by the Red Flash cut the Sharks' lead to 68-64 with 1:15 remaining. With Saint Francis unable to inch closer, LIU earned its 72-64 victory after four converted free throws.
FLASH NUGGETS
Carruthers became the first Saint Francis player to score 30 points since Jess Kovatch scored 38 on March 11, 2019 against Bryant. Her eight converted three-point field goals are the most since Kovatch converted eight in her 38-point game at Bryant.

Carruthers also became the first Red Flash player with at least 10 converted field goals since Jada Dapaa on Feb. 19, 2022 at St. Francis Brooklyn.

Dorsey tied her career high with seven assists and she leads the Red Flash with 2.7 per game this season.

Gibson regained the team lead with 5.1 rebounds per game.

Destini Ward saw a fave-game double-digit scoring streak end with six points in the game. She is still averaging 15.4 points per game through the first five conference contests.
