LORETTO, Pa. – Both Saint Francis University tennis teams lost their respective dual matches on Saturday. Men's tennis dropped its match to Bucknell 7-0 while the women's team lost 4-1 to Western Michigan.
Women's: Saint Francis 1, Western Michigan 4
Doubles
The Broncos earned the doubles point with 6-2 and 6-3 wins from the No. 1 and No. 2 slots respectively .
Kelly Dowuona and
Kally Kadzinski led their match in the No. 3 spot 4-3 before it went unfinished.
Singles
Dowuona won her match in the No. 5 spot in straight sets. It was her sixth win on the season and her second dual match win. Western Michigan earned their three singles points from the No. 2, No.4 and No. 6 slots.
Men's: Saint Francis 0, Bucknell 7
Doubles
The Bison took wins in the No. 1 and No. 3 spots to secure the doubles point.
Mathis Tremblay and
Tyler Nguyen won their match in the No. 2 slot 6-4. The victory is Nguyen's 10th doubles win of the 2023-24 season and his third win with Tremblay as his partner.
Singles
Bucknell won all six singles contests to lock up the sweep. All but the No. 4 match were won in straight sets. Tremblay lost that match 7-6, 6-7, 5-10.

Women's tennis returns to action on Friday, Feb. 2 when they head to State College for a road match with Penn State. Men's tennis will host Le Moyne at Gorilla House Gym in Altoona for their next match on Sunday, Feb. 4. Women's tennis will also host Le Moyne that day at Ebensburg Tennis Center.
