Water Polo Falters in Day Two of the Michigan Invite

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

>>Saint Francis fell to Marist and Indiana in the second day of the Michigan Invite, falling to Marist 20-7 and to Indiana 23-9.

TURNING POINTS
Outscoring the Red Flash 14-6 in the first three periods, the Red Foxes of Marist ran away with the game in the fourth period. Marist scored six goals to the Red Flash's lone goal by Sam Eschleman (Reading, Pa.) in the final frame.

Down 20-8 to the No. 16 Hoosiers, it was going to be a daunting fourth period. Kimberly Frostad (Regina, Saskatchewan) found the net with 59 seconds to go, but three additional goals from Indiana ensured that Saint Francis would not come out on top.

FLASH MOMENT
In the second period against Indiana, Eschleman scored her second goal of the game with 5:03 remaining in the period. A minute and a half later, Lucy Willis (Ft. Thomas, Ky.) tallied a goal of her own to narrow the Hoosiers' lead to 10-3.

FLASH NUGGETS
Eschleman led the Red Flash's offensive efforts with four goals between the two games.

Emese Szucs (Budapest, Hungary) earned four assists on the day, leading the Red Flash.

Isabel Lumley (Brisbane, Australia) started in net in both games tallying a combined 13 saves. Grace Raquel (Naperville, Ill.) entered the game against Indiana in the second period, recording six saves.

UP NEXT
Saint Francis will head back out on the road next weekend, playing in the Bruno Classic. Across the three-day tournament, the Red Flash will face Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, Siena, La Salle and LIU.
