Saint Francis Men's Basketball Drops Game At Wagner, 71-57

TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
Similar to the game on Thursday against Sacred Heart, first half turnovers turned into 17-first half points to help Wagner jump out to the advantage they would not relinquish.

FLASH MOMENTS
The Frankies had a 5-0 and a 6-0 in the first half. Aaron "Ace" Talbert (Wyandanch, N.Y.) drained a 3-pointer at 10:37 and Gestin Liberis (Havertown, Pa.) scored in the lane at 9:07 to cut the Wagner lead to 17-12. In the final two minutes of the half, Wilborn scored in the lane off a Carlos Lopez, Jr. (Egg Harbor, N.J.) assist at 2:11 and then Wilborn returned the favor at 1:08 on Lopez's 3-pointer. Wilborn then made 1 of 2 at the line with 26 seconds left to cap six-straight points by the Flash.
 
Trailing 49-28 with 14:04 left in the second half, the Frankies went on a 13-4 spurt to cut the margin to 53-41 with 8:10 on the clock. Liberis fueled the spurt with four points.

FLASH NUGGETS
Wilborn recorded two-straight double-doubles for the second time in his career and registered his fifth double-double of the season. In addition, the freshman has recorded four-straight double-doubles on the road and three-consecutive games with 10+ rebounds. Wilborn posted three blocks for the seventh time this season and now has 30 rejections on the year.
 
Rosenberger posted his seventh double-figure game of the season and his third 10+ game in his last four tilts. It was also just his second time that he has recorded double figures out of the state of Pennsylvania. The freshman is averaging 10.8 points and 5.0 rebounds per game in his last four tilts. Rosenberger has registered four games with at least five rebounds and three tilts with at least seven boards.
 
Liberis finished the game with nine points, his second-highest total in league play.
 
Head coach Rob Krimmel was coaching in his 350th game as the head coach of the Red Flash. Krimmel has been associated with Saint Francis for 28 years as a player, assistant coach or head coach and has been a part of almost 800 games in that span.
 
The Red Flash has also started the year 0-2 under Krimmel for the fourth time (2016-17, 2020-21, 2021-22, 2022-23). The 2016-17 team went on to finish 11-7 in the circuit after starting the year 0-2 on the road.
