ERIE, Pa. - Saint Francis women's soccer's season concluded with a 3-1 loss on the road to Mercyhurst on Thursday night.

TURNING POINTS OF THE GAME
Mercyhurst struck first with a goal just six minutes into the game.
Pyle evened things up with a header goal in the 41st minute of the match.
The Lakers scored two goals in the second half to secure their fourth win of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Mercyhurst took control of the match early with a goal just past the five-minute mark to take a 1-0 lead.
Raine Korpics and Tomke Dziesiaty had chances to level the match in the minutes following the Laker goal, but both had their shots saved.
Sawich kept the deficit at one when she made three saves in six minutes from the 20th minute to the 26th.
Kendziora and Riley Cerqua both attempted to draw the Red Flash level within two minutes of each other but could not convert.
Pyle was on the receiving end of a great Kendziora cross into the box, and she buried the chance to tie things up in the final match of her career.
The Red Flash would head into the break on even terms and carried the momentum.
Mercyhurst quickly swung the pendulum back their way with a goal just three minutes into the second period.
Bella Pesce, Korpics and Lily Cornwell would each try and respond before the hour mark, but none could finish their chances.
Sawich once again made a flurry of saves with three in as many minutes.
Kendziora, Pyle, Cornwell and Mercedez Paino all fired shots towards goal in hopes of tying things up, but none were able to. Paino came the closest in the 78th minute when she hit the crossbar.
The Lakers doubled their lead in the 82nd minute and slammed the door shut on any comeback attempt.
FLASH NUGGETS
Despite the loss, Saint Francis finishes the season with a winning record on the road at
Pyle's goal and subsequent two points leave her final career points tally at 35.
Sawich's 11 saves were the second most in her career, only trailing her 12-save performance against Duquesne on Oct. 12.
Sawich saved at least 75 percent of shots on target in 14 out of 17 matches this season.
