FRANKIES TIDBITS IN A FLASH
• Friday's game between Saint Francis and marks the 10th meeting in the all-time series dating back to the 1987-88 season. The  Golden Griffins lead the matchup 6-3, including taking last year's meeting in Buffalo in the first meeting between the two teams since 2016-17. The last Red Flash win in the series was a 95-74 win in the 2016-17 meeting in Loretto.
• The Red Flash is 6-15 all-time against the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, including 3-4 at home. Canisius is the only team from the MAAC the squad has played under head coach Keila Whittington. Saint Francis has played all 13 teams currently associated with the league but has not played Marist, Manhattan, Mount St. Mary's, Quinnipiac, Rider, or Sacred Heart in a non-conference game since they left the NEC for the MAAC.
• The next opponent on the Red Flash's schedule, Loyola, has been on the schedule with three different leagues. The Greyhounds were in the NEC for the first seven meetings in the series before the subsequent two battles came when Loyola was with the MAAC. Last year was the first time the two teams squared off with the Greyhounds in the Patriot League.
• Saint Francis is 177-113 against teams from the Empire State, including 101-42 at home, 71-71 on the road, and 5-0 on a neutral site. Most of those games are against NEC teams in New York. The Red Flash is 7-31 against non-conference teams from the state, 4-11 at home and 3-20 on the road. Whittington is 14-17 against the Empire State, including league games, but has only played Canisius and Syracuse on the road from the state in non-conference play. Friday's game will be the first time Whittington has faced a team from New York in Loretto.
• The Red Flash will host Loyola on Sunday before heading out on a five-game road trip that will see the team play three Keystone State rivals, a trip to College Park, and a visit to Dover, Delaware, before returning to DeGol Arena.

KID'S DAY OUT
• Saint Francis is expecting over 950 school-age children and could be pushing 1,000 fans for the 18th time since 2000 at a women's basketball game and for the first time since November 20, 2018.
• This is the fifth time the Red Flash will hold a Kid's Day Out game, formerly recognized as Education Day. Saint Francis held these special days, inviting local schools from 2016-19.
• Canisius, Friday's opponent, was the first team to be part of this event in 2016, while the last three Saint Francis played Seton Hill.
• The Red Flash won the last four Kid's Day Out games.
• Along with hosting the Kid's Day Out Game on Friday, the Loretto program is part of three road Kid's Day Out games. The squad played at 11 am against Coppin State on Tuesday and will travel to Delaware State (December 5) and Rhode Island (December 20) this season.

AN SFU WIN WOULD
• Be the team's first win of the season
• Be the squad's fifth win when hosting a Kid's Day Out Day and the first since 2019
• Be the Red Flash's first win against Canisius since hosting the first Kid's Day Out Game in 2016
• Improve to 1-1 at home this season
• Improve to 1-1 in Kid's Day Out games with two more to come

ABOUT THE GOLDEN GRIFFINS
• Canisius has played the two closest Division I schools to Saint Francis this season, with losses at Pittsburgh and at Penn State. The Griffs are 0-2 after falling 89-57 in State College on Tuesday.
• Jaela Johnson paced Canisius with 11 points against the Nittany Lions. She ranks third on the team with 6.5 points per game.
• Franka Wittenberg chipped in 10 points. Wittenberg is second on the squad with 6.5 points per game.
• Shariah Gailes leads the Griffs with 8.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. She has nine points and eight boards on Tuesday.
• Canisius finished last season 17-14 and 11-9 in the MAAC, but the team is in its first season under the direction of head coach Tiffany Swoffard.

LAST TIME WE MET

• Canisius defeated Saint Francis 78-62 on November 11, 2023.
• Kaitlyn Maxwell paced the Red Flash with 13 points, while Kendall Carruthers and Harris Robinson posted nine points apiece.
• Sisi Eleko tallied 24 points and 10 rebounds to power the Golden Griffins. Grace Heeps added 14 points.

LAST TIME OUT
• Saint Francis lost 74-38 at Coppin State on Tuesday in a Kid's Day Out Game.
• Sophomore Yanessa Boyd paced the Red Flash with 10 points and five rebounds.
• Freshman Ineivi Plata added a career-high nine points in her second career start, while junior Natalie Johnson hauled in a career-best six rebounds along with six points in her first start in a Red Flash uniform.

TRENDING UP

• Sophomore Yanessa Boyd became the second Red Flash player to register double figures in points this season with her 10 points at Coppin State on Tuesday.
• Boyd, who has posted at least seven points in her first three games this season, has registered double figures in four of her last eight games and is averaging 8.4 points per game in that stretch.
• Junior Natalie Johnson was the first Red Flash player with 10+ points in a game this season after her 10-point performance at Lafayette on Saturday. The junior made her first Saint Francis start on Tuesday and recorded a career-high six boards.
• In freshman Ineivi Plata's first three games, she led the team in assists (4) against NJIT on November 4, fueled the team in rebounds (6) against Lafayette, and then posted a career-high nine points against Coppin State. She is averaging 7.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game in her first two career starts.
• Sophomore Marina Artero has 11 assists in her first three games and nine in her past two contests after tallying 19 assists in 30 games in her freshman campaign. The sophomore registered a career-high six assists and added five boards against Lafayette. Fellow sophomore Kameryn Dorsey dished out five or more assists last season. Artero becomes the seventh player in head coach Keila Whittington's six seasons to dish out five assists in a game. She is also the team's first big to pass around the rock like that since Jada Dapaa had five or more assists four times in 2021-22 and for the first time since Dapaa handed out six helpers against Sacred Heart on February 26, 2022.
