SELECT GAME NOTES VS. LAFAYETTEÂ (FULLÂ GAME NOTES PDF)
FRANKIES TIDBITS IN A FLASH
• Saint Francis and Lafayette will meet for the second time in program history after squaring off for the first time last season.
• The Red Flash is 9-16 against the Patriot League and 3-10 on the road. The team is looking for its first road win against the conference since defeating Bucknell 62-54 in Lewisburg in 2012-13. It would end a two-game losing streak on the road against the Patriot League with a loss at Bucknell (2021-22) and Loyola (2023-24) since that 2012-13 win.
• Saint Francis will host Loyola Maryland this year from the Patriot League on November 17. It will be the Greyhounds first visit to Loretto as a member of the Patriot League. It is the 11 meeting overall against Loyola with five meeting taking place when it was a member of the Northeast Conference and four times after moving to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
• Saint Francis lost the season opener for the eighth-straight season and the 42nd time in program history dating back to the inaugural season of 1968-69. With a win, the Red Flash would start the season 1-1 for the 23rd time in team history and the first since the 2016-17 campaign.
• Starting the season with the loss does not mean the team does not have a chance to go on to win a Northeast Conference Tournament Championship. In the 12 Red Flash NEC titles, Saint Francis opened the year with a loss in nine of the 12 years. Only the 1995-96, 1999-00 and 2001-02 teams started a season with a victory.
• The Red Flash returns to action at Coppin State for the team's first of four Kid's Day Out games on the schedule on Tuesday.Â
AN SFU WIN WOULD
• Even the Red Flash's record to 1-1 on the season and reach that mark for the first time the 2016-17 season
• Be the squad's first win against Lafayette in the second meeting against the Leopards
• Be Saint Francis' first road win against the Patriot League and first road win in the state of Pennsylvania since defeating Bucknell 62-54 in 2012-13.
• Be head coach Keila Whittington's first win against a team from Pennsylvania
