WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
>> Bobby Rosenberger III (Quakertown, Pa.) and Aaron "Ace" Talbert (Wyandanch, N.Y.) each had a career-high to help Saint Francis celebrate a couple of milestones in a 72-63 win against Stonehill in Northeast Conference (NEC) men's basketball action on Saturday.
>> Jorden "J-Money" McClure was honored before the game for the 10th anniversary of his signing a National Letter of Intent with Saint Francis men's basketball on February 11, 2014.
>> Head coach Rob Krimmel notched his 100th NEC regular season win on the sixth anniversary of his 50th NEC win to become the 12th head coach in NEC history to reach the milestone.
>> Rosenberger finished with 22 points and nine rebounds, while Talbert had a career-high 21 points, five assists, and four rebounds.

TURNING POINT OF THE GAME

Saint Francis never trailed in the game, but just like any game, this season had moments where the game could have turned, but not tonight, not when you believe.

Rosenberger gave the Red Flash the early lead after scoring the first five points of the game and nine of the first 11 points for the Loretto program for an 11-6 lead with 13:04 left in the first half to give the team the lead it would not relinquish.

The decisive run came in the second half, with Saint Francis holding a 53-47 lead. A flagrant-one foul was called on the Frankies, so the Skyhawks received two free throws and the ball. They only made one at the line, and Rosenberger made a defensive rebound on the ensuing play. Talbert then started a 15-2 run to put the game away with the freshman's fifth 3-pointer of the night. Rosenberger had seven points in the run, Talbert added five, and Aidan Harris (Annapolis, Md.) recorded three points in a run that only took two minutes and 25 seconds.

FLASH QUOTES
"After a very choppy offensive start, I thought we did an excellent job in the first half defending Stonehill, one of the country's most aggressive 3- 3-point shooting teams. They certainly had us on our heels with some of the shots they were making. They were able to knock down some shots and keep the game close until we were able to extend that lead in the second half." – head coach Rob Krimmel on the game

"You get to this point in the year, and it's playoff basketball. You want to be one of the eight teams, but you're also fighting to get that seed. Once you get to the middle of February, you want to be in a position to be fighting for one of those eight, but then fighting for a seed, and that's the mindset that these guys have to have every single day they step on that court. I thought they displayed that tonight." – Krimmel on postseason

"We are focusing on the next game, and we're not trying to look into the future because if people continue to the future too much, you cannot be as focused on the next game. Staying focused on what is coming next is important." Bobby Rosenberger III on not looking too far ahead

"It feels good to go out and perform to the best of my ability, but I've been I've been trying to do that throughout the whole season." Aaron "Ace" Talberton his performance

"Ten years ago, Jorden signed the National Letter to participate in our program. The word believe has become the focal point of what we do in our basketball program. Believe in each other, but get them to believe in themselves. Without Jorden, his spirit and willingness to share his vision for life and his passion for impacting people in a way I don't know that you can measure. Jorden has impacted the number of players that have come through this program exponentially because they take out into their world and do what Jorden has done for them and our program. What a way to end his night with a victory. And I thought his spirit of belief was on display tonight throughout the game." – Krimmel on Jorden "J-Money" McClure, who was honored before the game

FLASH MOMENTS

Holding a 13-12 edge with 11:12 remaining in the first half, Saint Francis went on a 12-2 run to open up a 25-14 advantage at the seven-minute mark. Talbert hit his first two 3's of the game in this spurt, while Carlos Lopez, Jr. (Egg Harbor, N.J.) had a four-point play thanks to a triple and a free throw after being fouled on the play.

The Red Flash then used an 8-0 run in the second half to extend a 40-37 edge to 48-37 with 12:47 left in the game. Harris and Talbert nailed a 3-ball, and Gestin Liberis (Havertown, Pa.) also had a basket in the run.

FLASH NUGGETS
Rosenberger topped his career total by one point thanks to shooting 8 for 15 from the floor, 2 for 5 from 3-point land, and 4 for 5 from the free-throw line. The last time he scored 20 points in a game was January 19 against LIU, and he finished with nine rebounds, too. The freshman has 10 games with at least 10 points this season and a pair of 20-point performances. Rosenberger is averaging 19.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game in his last two games.

Talbert shot 8-for-11 from the floor and 5 of 7 from downtown to become the fourth different player to register a 20-point performance this season after breaking his career high of 19 points against Franciscan on November 22. The freshman had scored double figures in seven of nine games, starting with the first home game on November 20 against Pitt Greensburg, but he had only scored eight points twice in his last nine games before Saturday's outburst. It is the sixth time he has dished out at least five assists this season, and the Frankies are 4-1 in those contests.

Rosenberger and Talbert hit 20 points in a game to mark the first time since the last game at home of the 2022-23 season. It is also the first time under Krimmel that two freshmen have had 20 points in the same game in his 12 seasons as head coach. It is the third time a freshman has had 22 points in a game this season after Lopez reached the feat twice early this year and is the fifth most by a freshman under Krimmel, while Talbert joins Rosenberger and Lopez with 21-point games this season.

Wilborn finished the game with five points, seven rebounds, a career-high six assists, two blocks, and a steal. It was only the third time Wilborn finished with single digits in points in NEC play, but it marked the eighth time he had hauled in at least seven boards and the fourth time he had handed out at least three assists in league play.

Harris added eight points and five rebounds, while Lopez had eight points in the win. Harris has had five rebounds in his last six tilts and eight times in NEC play.

Krimmel becomes the 12th head coach in league history to reach 100 league regular season wins, joining Tom Green (FDU, 263), Howie Dickenman (CCSU, 187), Ron Ganulin (St. Francis Brooklyn, 129), Dave Calloway (Monmouth, 127), Dave Magarity (Saint Francis/Marist, 117), Jim Phelan (Mount St. Mary's, 116), Glenn Braica (St. Francis Brooklyn, 116), Andrew Toole (Robert Morris, 115), Bashir Mason (Wagner, 111), Wayne Szoke (Monmouth, 109) and Dave Bike (Sacred Heart, 105). He also becomes the second Saint Francis alumnus in the club, joining Magarity with 100 wins combined through Saint Francis and Marist.

His 100th NEC win was six years after his 50th NEC win when he defeated St. Francis Brooklyn on February 10, 2018 in Brooklyn. That win was also his only milestone win outside the state of Pennsylvania.

All of his other milestone wins came in the Keystone State. Krimmel's first win was on January 3, 2013, against CCSU; his 50th win was against Bryant on January 19, 2017, at DeGol Arena. His 100th and 150th did not happen at home but did occur in the state. He earned his 100th win at Saint Joseph's on November 30, 2019, and his 150th win at Lehigh on November 29, 2023.

NEXT UP
Saint Francis, who has won three of its last four home games, returns to action on Thursday against Wagner. Game time is 7 p.m. A pregame ceremony honoring Norm Van Lier and the Red Flash Golden Era players will occur at 6:40 p.m.
