Women’s Basketball to Host Think Pink Game Against FDU on Saturday

LORETTO, Pa. –
Saint Francis University women's basketball returns home to host its Think Pink game on Saturday, Feb. 17 against FDU.  
 
Saint Francis Quick Hits
Kendall Carruthers is coming off a career-high 32-point effort against Wagner. She raised her conference scoring total to 17.2 points per game, which ranks third in the Northeast Conference. Her 2.5 three-point field goals per game is fourth in the NEC during conference play and she carried a 33.8 three-point percentage. Kameryn Dorsey recorded her first-career double-double against Wagner with a career-high 10 rebounds and 12 assists. Her assists were the most by a Red Flash player since Alexa Hayward's 15 on Nov. 18, 2014 against Buffalo. Dorsey jumped to tied for second in the NEC with 4.1 assists per game in conference play and is fourth overall with 3.1 per game this season. Harris Robinson (13) and Marina Artero (12) both set a career-high in points and recorded their second double-digit scoring effort of the season. Artero is shooting a team-high 42.5-percent from the field this season. Saint Francis topped 70 points for the first time this season and its 76 points were the most since an 80-point output against Central Connecticut on March 4, 2021 – a 75-game span.
 
Last Time Out
Saint Francis won its second game in a row with a 76-60 victory over Wagner. It also marked Saint Francis' first road victory of the season. The Red Flash took a three-point, 16-13 lead at the end of the first quarter. The teams were tied at 21 in the second quarter before an 11-0 Saint Francis run opened a 32-21 lead with 1:49 remaining in the half. After Saint Francis took a 34-26 lead into halftime, Wagner cut the deficit to 37-34 with 5:40 remaining in the third quarter. Saint Francis responded with a 17-5 run the remainder of the third quarter and led 54-39. The Red Flash jumped out to a 61-42 lead with 7:46 remaining before Wagner cut the deficit to 64-54 with 4:05 remaining. Saint Francis held a double-digit lead for the final four minutes before clinching its 16-point victory.
 
Scouting FDU
The Knights rank third in the NEC with a 7-3 conference record and stand at 9-14 overall. FDU has won six of its last seven games, with its only loss to first-place Sacred Heart. Teneisia Brown leads the way with 11.1 points and a conference third-best 7.2 rebounds per game. Lilly Parke paces the Knights with 13.0 points per game during conference play followed by Brown's 12.2. Abby Conklin (10.9) and Abaigeal Babore (10.2) also average double-digit points in conference play. Conklin averages a conference eighth-highest 2.9 assists per game. FDU allowed the second-lowest points in the conference with 61.6 per game against.
 
All-Time vs. FDU
Saint Francis holds a 47-27 all-time advantage over FDU, including a 27-10 margin at DeGol Arena. The Knights have won four of the last five meetings and took this season's first game 64-54 on Jan. 15. The victory was FDU's first in its current streak of six wins in the last seven games. FDU won the first game 87-66 in 1985 and started a seven-game winning streak to begin the series for the Knights.
 
Around the NEC
FDU (7-3) took a commanding 84-53 victory over LIU (3-8). The Sharks dropped into a last-place tie with Stonehill (3-8) who fell 74-56 to Merrimack (6-5). Le Moyne (9-2) defeated Central Connecticut (4-7) to clinch a berth in the NEC Tournament. Saint Francis (4-7) won its second game in a row with a 76-60 victory over Wagner (3-7). On Saturday, Le Moyne visits Stonehill, Wagner visits Sacred Heart, Merrimack visits LIU and FDU visits Saint Francis.
