LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis University women's basketball is set to host Senior Day on Saturday, Feb. 24 at 4 p.m. on ESPN+ and Sportsnet Pittsburgh. The Red Flash will honor their one senior,
Kaitlyn Maxwell.
Honoring Maxwell
Saint Francis will honor its only senior, Maxwell, prior to tip-off against Stonehill. Maxwell has appeared in 56 games with 49 starts in her four seasons at Saint Francis. In her 2021-22 sophomore season, Maxwell's 40.5 three-point shooting percentage ranks eighth in single-season program history. She was a one-time NEC Prime Performer this season and one-time NEC Rookie of the Week in 2020-21. She was averaging 10.3 points per game in the first three this season before suffering an injury.
Saint Francis Quick Hits
Kendall Carruthers recorded her 13th games of the season with at least 15 points after her 17-point effort against Merrimack. She is averaging 19.8 points per game in her last five and 14.0 overall. Her overall points are fourth in the Northeast Conference, while her 17.0 per game during conference play rank third.
Yanessa Boyd's 11 points against Merrimack was her first double-digit scoring effort in conference play. She raised her season average to 6.9 per game, which is second among active Red Flash players.

Julianna Gibson (5.2) are Saint Francis' leading rebounders this season.
Kameryn Dorsey leads the team with 3.3 assists per game despite averaging the seventh-most minutes per game (23.4). Her 4.4 assists per game during conference play is second in the NEC behind only reigning NEC Player of the Year Ny'Cerara Pryor.
Last Time Out
Saint Francis fell in its second-to-last home game of the season 72-57 to Merrimack. Merrimack started the game on a 13-4 run before Saint Francis cut the deficit to 16-10 after the first quarter. Saint Francis then cut the deficit to 20-18 in the second quarter before Merrimack opened a seven-point, 29-22 lead at halftime. In the third, Merrimack opened an 11-point lead, 37-26, before Saint Francis cut the deficit to one score, 45-43, with 1:12 remaining in the frame. Merrimack responded with a 6-0 run to end the quarter with a 51-43 lead. Saint Francis scored the first five points in the fourth and was within one score again, 51-48. The Warriors once again responded to open back up an eight-point, 61-53 lead with five minutes remaining. Merrimack held Saint Francis to four points in the final five minutes before its 15-point victory.
Scouting Stonehill
The Skyhawks are tied for the seventh seed in the NEC with a 3-9 conference record. The Skyhawks are one of three teams with three wins this season. Stonehill enters Saturday's game on a five-game losing streak, with its last victory 66-57 over Saint Francis on Jan. 25. Lauren Sampson leads the way for the Skyhawks with 13.6 points per game, followed by Jada Thornton's 10.8. Maureen Stapleton leads the program with 7.7 rebounds per game, which is second in the NEC.
All-Time vs. Stonehill
Saint Francis holds a 2-1 advantage over Stonehill since the Skyhawks' reclassification to Division I ahead of the 2022-23 season. Stonehill won this season's meeting 66-57 behind a 23-point effort from Sampson. The Red Flash won last season's meeting at DeGol Arena 71-70 in overtime.
Around the NEC
Sacred Heart (11-1) defeated FDU (8-4) 75-63 to remain atop the NEC standings. Le Moyne (11-2) remained in the hunt for first place after a 58-45 victory over LIU (3-10). Central Connecticut (5-7) earned a key victory 69-61 over Wagner (3-9) to push itself closer to clinching the NEC Tournament. Merrimack (8-5) defeated Saint Francis (4-9) to inch closer to third place.
