Men's and Women's Tennis Split Matches vs. Barton

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The Saint Francis University men's and women's tennis teams split their matches against Barton College. The men won 4-3 and the women lost 5-2. 

Women's: Saint Francis 2, Barton 5.  

Doubles 
The Red Flash won one of the three doubles matches, ultimately dropping the doubles point to the Bulldogs.  

Reagen Mangan and Sara Jankovic won their fifth consecutive match as a pair with a 6-1 win from the No. 2 spot 

 
Singles 
Saint Francis earned two singles points with wins from the No. 1 and No. 4 positions. 

Diana Zuba's 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 (5-0) win in the No. 1 slot improves her singles record to 15-5 on the season, a team best. 

Miyake's 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (3-0) win from the No. 4 spot marks her sixth win in a row. 
 

Men's: Saint Francis 4, Barton 3.  

Doubles 
The Red Flash took wins in the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches to secure the doubles point.  

Marc Fuste and Gregory Troyan won their match from the No. 2 position 6-3, while Alan Gonzalez and Kevin Kruzel won 6-4 from the No. 6-4 

 
Singles 
Singles wins from Gonzalez, Kruzel and Mathis Tremblay earned the Red Flash their fifth victory of the season and their second in a row.  

Gonzalez's 6-4, 6-2 win in the No. 2 slot was his fifth singles match in a row and improve his singles record to a team best 14-5 on the year.  

Tremblay's 6-0, 6-3 win brought his record back to .500 on the season at 5-5. 

Kruzel's 6-0, 6-2 win in the No. 6 position clinched the win for the Red Flash and was his seventh on the season.  

Next 

The women will play UNC Wilmington tomorrow and both teams play George Mason on Friday.
