Men's Volleyball Remains Unbeaten In Conference Play After Sweep Over FDU

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW 
>> Saint Francis University men's volleyball swept FDU in the first match of the season series Friday night to improve their NEC record to 11-0 (25-10, 25-18, 25-21).

>> 17 players saw game action in tonight's match, including Joey Ferragonio and Trevor Lewis's return from injuries.

>> In two sets of action, Andrew Deardorff and Nathan Zini each tallied six kills. Brady Stump was right behind them with five.

>> The Red Flash tallied 10 service aces, including four from Ryan Parker and three from Michael Mosbacher.

TURNING POINT OF THE MATCH 
Saint Francis claimed the first two sets to go up 2-0. With a chance at a sweep, the team got off to a 17-12 lead in the third set. The Knights persevered with a 8-3 rally to knot it up at 20 going into the final serves. The comeback fell short for the Knights, as the Red Flash responded with a 5-1 run to take back control. Ferragonio ended the match with a kill to seal the 3-0 win.

FLASH MOMENTS
The opening set was controlled by Saint Francis. It started out with a tight 6-4 score to start out, but the Red Flash erupted to the tune of a 13-3 run to balloon the lead to 19-7. FDU never cut the deficit below 10 afterwards, and Parker's fourth ace helped give the squad a 25-10 set win.

Set two saw the team get out to a 8-3 lead and never look back. The Knights would attempt a rally by making the score as close as 17-13, but the Red Flash shut it down with a 7-3 run to extend their lead to 24-16. Elijah Lazor wrapped up the set with a kill to help Saint Francis go up 2-0 in the match.

FLASH NUGGETS
The Red Flash are one win away from going undefeated in conference play through an entire regular season for the first time in program history.

The offense recorded 37 kills with a hitting percentage of .468. Ferragonio and Lewis tallied four and two kills, respectively. Lazor, Liam Buck and Brayden Gall all racked up three kills apiece as well.

The setter trio of Parker, Nathan Hayes and Brayden Kuruzovich posted 36 assists combined. Parker had 18, Hayes was second with 12, and Kuruzovich registered four.

Defensively, Peyton Blain led the team in digs with seven. Ferragonio was second with four. Lazor accumulated three blocks to lead the block category. The defense held FDU's offense to a .161 hitting percentage, including a -.111 in the first set.
