WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – Saint Francis University men's tennis had their excellent run come to an end with a 4-1 loss to Binghamton in the NEC final on Sunday.
It was their first finals appearance since 2017 and their third time in program history finishing as runners-up.
Doubles
The Red Flash won the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles matches to claim the doubles point.
Tyler Nguyen and Mathis Tremblay won the No. 1 doubles match 6-4. The pair finish the season with 12-7 record together this season. It was their 19th and 14th singles wins of the year individually.
Alan Gonzalez and Kevin Kruzel earned a clutch 7-6 win in the No. 3 doubles match to put the Red Flash up 1-0 early. The pair went 7-5 together this season and won 11 and 17 total doubles matches respectively.
Singles
The Red Flash dropped the No. 1, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles matches in the 4-1 loss.
Nguyen's match stood at 7-5, 1-4 before going unfinished, and Gonzalez was locked in a 3-6, 6-2, 2-2 battle before his match went unfinished as well.
Gregory Troyan battled to a third set before eventually losing that third set.
