LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis University softball took an 8-0 win over Sacred Heart to earn its fifth straight conference series sweep. The Red Flash improved to 15-0 in the conference and 28-11 overall. 
 
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
» Grace Vesco (13-6) threw a complete game one-hitter and allowed one walk with seven strikeouts.
» Lauren Aubry went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and one RBI.
» Olivia Ulam went 1-for-3 with one run scored and two RBIs.
» Ashley Orischak went 1-for-1 with two runs scored, one walk and one hit by pitch.
 
TURNING POINTS OF THE GAME
» Ulam hit a two-run single in the third inning to start the scoring. Madelyn Wilson followed with a single and extended the lead to 3-0. Rachel Marsden was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to cap off a four-run third inning.
» In the fifth inning, Savannah Nash scored on a Sacred Heart throwing error to extend the lead to 5-0. Aubry followed with an RBI single that drove in pinch runner Hannah Bendle for a 6-0.
» Farmer singled two batters later and drove home Aubry and Orischak scored on an error on the play to clinch the run-rule victory.
 
FLASH NUGGETS
» Saint Francis started 15-0 in conference play for the third time in program history. The other two were perfect 16-0 conference seasons in 2017 and 2018.
» Seven of Saint Francis' 15 conference victories are by run rule. Saint Francis has outscored conference opponents 109-23 this season.
» Vesco threw her third one-hitter of the season and ninth of her career. She allowed just four hits in nine innings in the series against Sacred Heart. 
» Kaylie Walters raised her walk total to 31 this season, which is four shy of tying fifth in single-season program history.
» Ulam extended her career-long hitting streak to seven games. She has at least two hits in six of the seven games. She had 14 RBIs during the stretch.
