TURNING POINTS
The Red Flash maintained a lead in the second and third quarters, but with 4:21 remaining in the game the Brown Bears tied the game 7-7 before taking a lead with 3:14 to go.
Caylah Olay (Redondo Beach, Calif.) evened the score once again, but Brown sealed the win with a goal with 14 seconds remaining.
Saint Francis was down 17-6 to Princeton going into the fourth quarter. Emese Szucs (Budapest, Hungary), Adi Garges (Perkasie, Pa.) and Lucy Willis (Ft. Thomas, Ky.) scored unanswered goals to narrow the Tigers' lead to 17-9, but Princeton found the back of the net with 1:04 left to take the game.
FLASH MOMENT
Saint Francis outscored Brown 4-1 in the second quarter. Szucs notched the first goal of the quarter.
Sam Eschleman (Reading, Pa.) tallied a goal of her own to expand their lead to 3-1. The Brown Bears scored with 2:58 remaining in the half to make it a 3-2 game. After scoring a goal in the first quarter, Olay earned a hat-trick to widen the lead to 5-2. With 21 seconds left, Szucs found the back of the net to make it a 6-2 game heading into halftime.
FLASH NUGGETS
Olay led scoring for Saint Francis against Brown with four goals. Szucs recorded three goals with Eschleman tallying the team's eighth goal.
Szucs tallied another four goals versus Princeton. Olay scored twice, with Eschleman, Garges and Willis each recording one.
