LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis University football has announced the hiring of Matt Hoyman as the program's director of football operations.

"We are excited to add Matt to the coaching staff ahead of the 2024 season," said head coach
Chris Villarrial. "With recruiting being a pivotal component of our program, we are happy to add his new ideas in that aspect of the game. With his hard-working background, we are excited to have him expand the director of operations role at Saint Francis."

Hoyman joins the Saint Francis staff after he recently spent time as an intern with Pitt football as an equipment manager. With the Panthers, he provided equipment inventory checks, assisted the football staff with practice equipment setup and drill work, among other responsibilities.

He also spent time at California University of Pennsylvania as a student offensive assistant for multiple seasons. Hoyman assisted with oversight of student employees, managing game and practice film and assisted the Volcans' coaching staff during games.

"I am very grateful for the opportunity to join the Red Flash family," said Hoyman. "I am looking forward to working with the coaches and players here at Saint Francis. The atmosphere of this program already makes this feel like home."

Hoyman earned his Bachelor of Science in Sports Management from Pennsylvania Western University in California, Pa. in May 2024.
