Loretto, Pa.- Saint Francis men's soccer suffered a 3-1 defeat to Wright State on Sunday. It marks the program's first home loss since Oct. 2, 2022.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

TURNING POINTS OF THE GAME
Edwin Espinal found the game's opening goal for Wright State in the ninth minute.
Schelb leveled the match by putting a penalty kick in the back of the net in the 57th minute.
Wright State's Felix Ezekwuka put the Raiders back in front in the 74th minute. Brian Burkett scored a goal in the 86th minute to double the Raider lead.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Saint Francis came out of the gates with plenty of energy and had an early chance on a free kick from about 27 yards out. Schelb struck a shot that was saved.
In the sixth minute, the Red Flash had multiple shots that were all blocked in front of goal.
In the ninth minute, Joel Aschenbroich found Fabian Wagner on a cross into the box, but Wagner's header bounced just wide of the net.
In the 16th minute, Rodrigo Mendes made a great run with the ball and nearly found Wagner with a through ball in front of goal.
In the 27th minute, Saint Francis were given a free kick from a dangerous spot. Schelb served the ball into the box and nearly found Joni Ndrenika.
In the 31st minute, the Raiders generated a shot from a corner kick that was saved by Risenhoover.
A few minutes later, Tom Schellbach fired a shot on goal from miles out, but it bounced into the keeper's arms.
In the final minute of the half, Torren Aikens nearly leveled the match with a header on the back post.
The Red Flash came out of the half with energy, generating a chance in the 49th minute. Schelb had his shot from the top of the 18-yard box blocked.
In the 57th minute, Saint Francis drew a foul inside the box and were given a penalty kick. Schelb buried the penalty to draw the match level.
Schelb tried his luck with a long shot in the 62nd minute, but his shot sailed over the crossbar.
The Red Flash were back on the attack in the 67th minute when Aikens nearly scored off of a corner kick.
Schelb nearly struck again two minutes later in a one-on-one opportunity, but the keeper came out and handled the danger.
Alex De Nittis had a chance to score in the 70th minute but missed high with a header.
In the 76th minute, Risenhoover kept the deficit at one with an excellent kick save in a one-on-one opportunity.
The Raiders were able to hold their one goal lead and double it in the 86th minute to see out their victory.
FLASH NUGGETS
Ndrenika and Mendes made their first starts at the Division I level in the match.
Risenhoover made the first start of his collegiate career and saw his first action since making his collegiate debut on Sept. 5, 2023.
Schelb has recorded a point in six of his last nine appearances for Saint Francis.
