Despite making a comeback late in the third set, the Red Flash could not come out on top. Narrowing the score to 23-21, a ball-handling error kept Saint Francis in the match, but a Red Flash service error and a kill by Oakland ended the match.
FLASH MOMENTS
Saint Francis began the match keeping close with Oakland. Down just one at 8-7, the Red Flash took advantage of two errors by the Golden Grizzlies to take the lead.
Alyssa Irwin and
Laney Wilson blocked an Oakland attack, widening the lead to 10-8 before Oakland began to pull ahead to win the opening frame. Â
Down nine points in the third set, the Red Flash began to make a comeback. With
Christine Covello entering the match, Saint Francis notched kills by
Aaliyah Toppin and Wilson.
Drew Wallech recorded back-to-back aces, drawing a timeout from Oakland at a 19-14 score.

Alexandra Sappia led Saint Francis with 12 assists.
Wallech tallied four aces, team-most for the Red Flash.
Irwin and Wilson's block in the first set was the only block for Saint Francis.
