Football Falls to FBS Opponent Eastern Michigan

YPSILANTI, Mich. – Saint Francis University football dropped the second of its two games against FBS opponents this season 36-0 at Eastern Michigan.
 
What You Need to Know
» Adrian Mejia went 15-of-27 for 111 yards and one interception. He added 17 rushes for 20 yards.
» Jayden Ivory had three receptions and a team-high 42 yards.
» Trey McLeer had a team-high 11 total tackles (six solo).
» Dwayne Majors and Paul Tangelo each had one sack.
» Aidan Cirulli had seven punts for a 47.6-yard average with three punts of 50-plus yards.
 
Turning Points of the Game
Saint Francis drove down to the Eastern Michigan one-yard line with 4:33 remaining in the first quarter before the Eagles recovered a Red Flash fumble and returned it for a 99-yard touchdown. The Eagles added a field goal with 44 seconds remaining in the first quarter and opened a 10-0 lead.
 
A 49-yard Eastern Michigan field goal in the second quarter accounted for the only points of the second frame and Eastern Michigan led 13-0 at halftime.
 
In the third quarter, Eastern Michigan rushed for a one-yard touchdown, blocked a punt for a touchdown and added a field goal to open a 29-0 lead. An 89-yard passing touchdown with 11:20 remaining in the game finished the scoring as Eastern Michigan sealed its 36-0 victory.  
 
Flash Nuggets
Cirulli's game-long 69-yard punt was tied for the second-longest in program history. His previous career-long was 62 yards.
 
Ivory led Saint Francis in receiving for the second consecutive game. His 123 receiving yards already surpass his total from last season (118).
 
McLeer took the team-lead with 28 total tackles and ranks third with 12 solo tackles.
 
Next
Saint Francis has a bye week before taking on Delaware State on Oct. 5 for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
