Saint Francis drove down to the Eastern Michigan one-yard line with 4:33 remaining in the first quarter before the Eagles recovered a Red Flash fumble and returned it for a 99-yard touchdown. The Eagles added a field goal with 44 seconds remaining in the first quarter and opened a 10-0 lead.

A 49-yard Eastern Michigan field goal in the second quarter accounted for the only points of the second frame and Eastern Michigan led 13-0 at halftime.

In the third quarter, Eastern Michigan rushed for a one-yard touchdown, blocked a punt for a touchdown and added a field goal to open a 29-0 lead. An 89-yard passing touchdown with 11:20 remaining in the game finished the scoring as Eastern Michigan sealed its 36-0 victory. Â
